Think Shadow's in Statis again
Shadow's not himself today.
Got up and gave him his nuggets as usual today and he usually dives into the bowl like he's never been fed in weeks but today he didn't move He had a little nibble but then just flopped out again and that's all he's done since, just lay flat out. He keeps moving around the room as if he can't get comfortable, I've even sat on the floor with him eating a banana, which I usually can't do without him trying to steal it out my mouth but he's not budged. Anyway I've phone the vet and got an emergency appointment at 10:10, I'm paranoid so don't want to leave it in case it is statis, he ate all his veggies last night (hubby was in charge of him last night as I was out) and nothings changed in the last 24 hrs that I know of that could have caused him to stress. The only thing I'm wondering is that he seems to be having a little moult at the moment and last year when he moulted alot he went into Statis and I put it down to having alot of fur in his gut to slow it down?? What do you think??
He has also wee'd outside his loo on the floor and his blanket, which isn't like him!
These furry babies are a worry!

Re: Think Shadow's in Statis again
The sudden loss of toilet training could be an indicator he is in pain so make sure he gets a good dose of painkillers from the vets. Usually a build up of fur in the gut happens secondary to stasis i.e. something else will cause the gut to slow down and then the fur starts to clog up because it isn't being processed effectively.
Do make sure the vet gives his teeth a really good examination to rule them out as a source of pain/obstruction to eating.

Hi
Sorry, I didn't reply before now, only I couldn't post for some reason.
Anyway, vet gave Shadow a really good check over and said his gut was very quiet so gave him a stimulant and sent us on our way. As soon as I brought Shadow back in and opened his basket door, he hopped out ate all his breakfast and some of the greens I'd been trying to tempt him with. Little monkey was fine, I kept my eye on him all day but there's been no problems since!!!
Don't they worry us, maybe I was a little hasty in hot footing it down to the vet but I didn't want to take any chances!
Thank you for you're thoughts for my boy
