Free to a good home
FREE TO GOOD HOME -
2 year old child. Genuine reason, I've just got a new rabbit so no longer have the time for the child. Also worried the child may bite the rabbit. Child currently kept in a carrier. Needs home by tomorrow or it'll be put to sleep. Thanks.
You wouldn't do this to a child so why do you see it as acceptable to do it to a rabbit? If you can't dedicate 10yrs to a rabbit, don't get one.

Re: Free to a good home
Completely agree. I really enjoyed that ad though, it gave me a chuckle.
I think a lot of people don't realise how long rabbits can live for, and don't see them on the same level of cats and dogs, which is just wrong. I've met a lot of people who would never give up their dogs or cats for their kids, but refer to rabbits as "it's just a rabbit".

Re: Free to a good home
Thats very hard hitting, and made me feel quite uncomfortable. But the sentiment is true- if u take on responsibility for a living being its for the duration of its life and u had better know what ur doing. Yasmin told me there was a peice on rabbit welfare on the childrens news programme- i think its cbbc, i imagine alot of children would have asked their parents why thumper doesnt have any room to play, and why dont we feed him veggies or have a companion for him. I know a couple of kids in her class have told their parents yasmins rabbits have injections and theirs need them too x

No Jay, I got that off of FB but thought it very apt, sadly I have had calls like that though, obviously wanting to 'get rid' of their rabbit because they'd had a baby, I did offer one woman the nuimber for Barnados, she wan't amused

I am exactly the same, lots of people in my life have hurt me, some very badly and I have always loved animals far more than people now, I find them more loving plus they need me ....people don't ! .

It is the only thing I fully trust. I don't trust people, including my family. I have had far too many things happen to me which has shunted that trust in human beings.

I certainly don't trust some of my family members after what they did, and due to something happening to me many years ago I started to go off people then and then just recently a friend has hurt Mike and I deeply and you just turn to your animals more I think. I do suffer with severe depression due to what happened to me years ago but I deal with it, but sometimes people just make it worse.

I understand the depression I suffer with it myself. I just don't trust anybody now. I never answer the door unless it is somebody who has made an appointment otherwise I don't answer.

I also love animals more than people. Animals dont have the capacity for Hate or Spite, which makes them far nicer than people in my book.

I wouldn't say I like animals better, but I hate what people can do to each other and to animals.
