Today Cloud you would have been 1 year old.

She would have been 1 today.



Today I should be unwrapping new bunny toys and giving you treats, cuddling you and giving you kisses but instead I am lighting a candle for you Cloud to celebrate your 1st Birthday in the only way I know.
On this day I will remember with a smile just how happy you were, how you loved life and me and just how very special and beautiful you were.
I have cried for you since the day I cuddled you for the last time and saw you leave for the Bridge.
I hope you are ok little one and having fun at the Bridge you would be a big girl now but just as beautiful as you always were and I will never ever forget you sweetheart.

Although her life was short it looks like it was filled with love.

I hope you are having fun at the bridge Cloud, I think you must have been a very very special girl x

Cloud was very special, rescued from a pet shop after a tip off about a sick baby bunny with a wound on her back, the shop keeper had her in this carboard box below waiting for her to die, there was no food or water just some shavings . Sadly due to her bad breeding and being taken away from her Mother far to early she didn't make it to 1 year old. We reported the pet shop to the RSPCA.

I'm so sorry. You did an amazing thing saving her and although her little life didn't last long, I have no doubt that she would have known she was loved with you

If you had lived Cloud it would have been your 'gotcha day' today (Sunday 14th August) and I would have had you 1 year....but it wasn't to be

Thank you, I miss her so very very much I just can't get over her death at all it just eat's away at me and I can't get the vision of when I last saw her out of my mind at the vet's as she looked so very ill and died in my arms within seconds of the vet passing her to me

You did everything that you could possibly do for her

This is what I can't cope with I always looked after and cleaned out Cloud she was my girl and we had a wonderful bond, I'd take her feed in and settle her for the night and on the 1 night I went to bed early as I was so poorly and Mike took charge of her she was ill and I didn't know till the next morning when Mike told me else I'd have been up with her to look after her through the night, Mike gave her meds but by morning she had gone into GI Stasis and was rushed to the emergency vets and I didn't see her again till I asked if I could go and see her. To me they had pumped so much into her she was just like a rag doll. I just can't stop blaming myself I feel I let her down by not being there for her, I always get really upset when we lose a bun as they are little furry members of our Family but I've only ever been this bad before over a rabbit called Keegan that we lost in 2002 and who was just fantastic and my guardian angel while he was here, but Cloud it was like losing my best friend and the pain just won't go away

Funny how my mind works as i always think of Jem then Cloud comes into mind, when i see Cloud i see Jem.

Aww Maysie, please don't blame yourself. Sometimes these things just happen and are out with your control.

I hope this does not sound brutal, but with poor clouds bad start in life in that shop, she likely wouldn't have made it whether you and mike got her to the vets sooner or not.

I can totally understand that going to see her at the vet and her dying in your arms was very traumatic, but you were there for her in her final moments, she slipped away in mummy's arms - where she felt safe enough to let go.

If you hadn't saved her from that shop, she would have died not knowing what it is like to be loved and wanted or even what it's like to get a cuddle.

You do a wonderful, amazing thing with all the bunnies that cross your path. Please do not beat youself up over cloud. I'm CERTAIN she had a happy, albeit short, life with you guys.
