Video of my temporary houseguest
I took this video after I cleaned out the bunny and was trying to put down fresh newspaper
I took this a few minutes later, she had been throwing the toilet roll tube about but just as I pressed record she noticed the leaves and stopped (you can see her drop it at the very start)

Re: Video of my temporary houseguest
Thanks
I want to cuddle her too! But I don't think she'd appreciate my affection atm She doesn't even really like being stroked although sometimes she lets you.
I would like if she would come out her cage for a run about (would love to see her 'binky'!!) but we don't want to freak her out even more by making her come out, so the door is open if she wants to come out.
We haved moved her into the living room next to the french doors so she can see outside

Re: Video of my temporary houseguest
Well as the sun moved round it came in the window and shone on half of her cage and she was sunbathing for ages, looking relaxed with her hindlegs out to one side. A few minutes ago I went over to look at her as she was sitting up and she did this weird head tilt and then 'flopped'!
It wasn't a full flop and she didn't keep her head on the floor but still Here is a picture I took of her lying down straight after, you can see all the shavings on her head from her flop

Re: Video of my temporary houseguest
Thanks guys, I was so pleased when she flopped!
I've been reading this site: http://language.rabbitspeak.com/
And I think that it might have been one of those 'I am happier than you' flops seeing as she didn't keep her head down, but still
Also I think she shuddered earlier which according to that site means she is happy

Re: Video of my temporary houseguest
More pictures
Toilet roll tube, om nom nom. This did have hay in it but she pulled the hay out of it. Obviously doesn't want hay spoiling the taste!
This was about an hour ago, heard her ripping at her newspaper and next thing *thump*, water dish upturned and food dish filled with shavings.
Then just 5 minutes ago, I was lying next to her cage talking to her and occasionally stroking her and then she put her head down like this, sooo cute!!

She is wondefull, sooooo gorgeous - i give it a max of a couple of days untill she zooms out of the crate and across your lounge, she seems to be getting more confident all the time

Now that is guaranteed to strike fear in her heart, seeing the mess the bun has made of her cage!

Re: Video of my temporary houseguest
Writing this from my hotel room in San Francisco!
We set the pen up on Tuesday night, I tried to tempt her out with food which didn't work. She was definitely interested and kept going to the door and sticking her head out but then she'd go back in. Someone had suggested lifting her out the cage so she knows its ok to go outside even if she goes straight back in. So I lifted her out the cage and as I kinda expected she went straight back in. We had got her a new food/water dish and put that in the pen but left the old ones in her cage so there was food and water in both.
After a while i put some curly kale in the food dish in the pen which she could smell and looked out, so i some more immediately in front of the cage and a sort of trail leading over to the food dish.
Within a few minutes she was eating the bits outside the cage, then the front feet were out and and was stretching to get the next bits... a few minutes later all four feet were out!!!
I emailed my mum earlier to see how the bun was yesterday and she told me that she is spending lots of time in her pen, I was a bit worried about her feeling a bit nervous having strangers looking after her but apparently she's doing fab and being really cheeky. My mum told me that while she was trying to clean the cage out bun was pushing her hand out the way, she's also letting my mum stroke her quite happily.
I'm so pleased

Re: Video of my temporary houseguest
I knew I had this picture somewhere but I've only just found it again. This was taken after I called the SSPCA on her previous owners (at the beginning of the year) and just before they were coming round to investigate. As you can see there are clean shavings in the hutch freshly added (although if you look closely you can see there are still dirty shavings underneath). The huge pile in front of the hutch wasn't there the day before, ALL of it came from her hutch. (and never was cleared away...)
The SSPCA saw no problem at all with this (the pile on the floor was clearly from the rabbit hutch as it was obvious that it was mainly made up of rabbit droppings).
Note also the light marks above the mesh front, this is from rats chewing to get in (I caught them in the act more than once). They eventually chewed so much away the mesh front was loose and I had to tie it shut with bail twine.
