warming to jasper
I dunno what it is but ive never been able to bond/warm to jasper although ive had her since she was 6 weeks old and she is now about 14 weeks, she has just never liked me. When I first got the girls I picked them up equaly well I maybe picked twinkle up a little more but the other 4 got all the same treatment, and at that time they were in a cage in the house so they seen us all day every day, the baby fed them through the cage and we let them out every night and would come and sit round mick while he played on the commy, but since I let them out although twinkle and thumper escape a few times they are still very tame and dont mind being held once caught but Jasper growls and spits scratches everything but bite, I just dunno whats wrong with her! But tonight I was clearing the patio after cleaning the degus and huthes out and when I turned to put the stuff in the fire bin she was sitting about 5 foot away pushing her chest out staring at the fire and taking in the warmth, she looked like butter wouldnt melt. It looked so lovley I wish I could have got a picture but she scarpered when I opened the patio door. Just that one image realy melted my heart I dunno why just did lol.
Think I might have to accept she is just a rebel!!
This pic was took a little while back the morning after a different fire x

Re: warming to jasper
Years ago when my dad had ferrets they were WILD!!!! I used to hold them with leather gloves to stop the teeth going through, mabe a idea for your little snow flake till she is used to being held? I know im gonna do it with jasper! xx
Re: warming to jasper
Sometimes they just don't like being picked up. Luna hates it, she will only tolerate it occasionally and that's very rare..it's not enjoyable for her - only for me so I just leave her to it. Thistle however is fine with being picked up ^_^ he's my snuggly boy. For some buns, being picked up is just not for them...even though I can sit or lay down with Luna and stroke her for ages and she comes over for a cuddle, it's just the picking up.

Re: warming to jasper
Yep! Animals are like people they all have different personalities. Some people don't like hugs and attention, some animals don't..it doesn't mean they need to be changed, just respected
