Hello!
Hello I am Cheryl and I live in Bodmin in Cornwall with my 2 buns - Bruce and Florence - and 4 guinea pigs - Nutmeg, Treacle, Annie and Clarabel. Bruce is a & year old Lionhead who is very easy going, a bit of a wuss when it comes to pain and generally a bit of a mummy's boy. Florence is a 4 year old Rex x wild and is absolutely bonkers and a bit of an escape artist. Although there bonding was long and stressful the are now quite devoted to each other, although Flo likes to keep Bruce on his toes by flirting with next door's young dwarf lop through the fence. I already know Jo(lovesbunnies) as we do hoppering things together and I looking forward to getting to know (and pick the brains of) all of you.

Re: Hello!
Hi Sarah,
Buns and pigs live separately. Bruce was bullied by a piggy when he was just a baby so does not particularly like them and Flo never pays any attention to where she is bouncing especially when binkying so for safety reasons they are kept apart. And I know better than to keep them together these days.

Re: Hello!
That is right, and it used to be that a lot of rabbit foods had an additive in them that were harmful to guinea pigs. Guinea pigs are also not really suitable for the hay and veggies diet because of their nutritional needs. I would suggest that (if possible) you find a way to feed them separately. So put rabbit pellets in a place where the pig can't reach and put the piggy pellets where the rabbit can't get to (such as inside a box with a small unchewable entrance). I have seen set ups where both cohabit and the pigs have small hutch areas accessible by narrow plastic pipe that the buns cannot fit up. They can share hay and veggies no probs but try to include some good vitamin c sources such as parsley. And the recommendation is that the pigs have constant access to food whereas the rabbits need very little in the way of pellets. I know it sounds like a bit of a nightmare and that is because it is an it is one of the reasons why it is recommended that the two do not cohabit. Sorry that is proabably what you didn't want to hear

Jo I know you live in Liskeard because you know me in real life already! It's nice to talk to you in between hopper meetings. Hope you and the household are recovering after loosing your piggie.
