Regaining Bunny's Trust Empty Regaining Bunny's Trust

Wave hello x

as many of you know for the last two weeks fudge has been having pesky drops for an ear infection which as a one-parent family has come down to me to do battle with. we are nearer the end of the treatment-back to vet wedsnesday so hopeuflly no more drops No i mean sunday evening he launched himself into the washing up bowl complete with cool water in a bid to escape the drops so not only did i have a grumpy bunny i also had a very soggy one! (tries not to laugh as to watch his bemused expression was quite funny)

but since ive been doing the drops fudge has become very mistrusting of me-i can understand why because im the one who has had the evil deed to do-how do I go about regaining his trust? ive tried to ensure we have time that isn't associated to the drops but that hasn't always been possible as chaos has reined in the palace recently.

i love my little boy dearly and just want him to feel that he can snuggle upto his mummy again?

also any ideas how i can get his fur back to normal-where he has shaken his ears with the drops the greasie drops have got into his soft bunny fur...i wondered if cornflour rubbed in after the last course might help?!?!? Hmmm

we hope you can help as i really need a good dose of bunny :luv:

I always find food treats win my Buns over after having to give them daily treatment that they hate Smile

I'm not too sure about the cornflour, he might turn into pancake batter what with all the oil from the eardrops.......... Shocked

I have had to bath a few Buns who got very messy having been on Canaural. But I'd only do that as a last resort really.
Daily grooming will eventually get rid of some of the oily fur. A good moult would help too !!

Smile

hi jane
thanks for the reply Very Happy
i thought cornflour might brush through and free off some of the oil-after fudges escapade in the washing up bowl the other night i cant see him being very receptive to having a bath-he will just about tolerate being sponged with a damp flannel...would something like baby shampoo wash the grim out of his fur. he looks like his fur has been spiked up with hair gel at the moment. :lol!: not a trend i am used to with my fluffy bunster!

he loves food treats and seems to do anythng for bunny buttons...i think it will be a case of gradual rebonding and a little bit different when he isnt having horrid stuff squirted in his ears.

When I had to give Meggie oral meds she would just run as soon as she saw me, whether it was med time or not Sad when the meds had finished she slowly stopped running and I amde sure I spent more time, just giving treats and stroking to build her trust back up x
