Bored Bunny!!!
Hey all, Just wondering if anyone can advise of any good toys? I've bought nearly everything P@H sells for rabbits, and brought about a million chew toys and throw about toys for buttons but he's just not interested!!! He's a licker, and the only thing he seems to want to do is chew the carpet or try and pull out the caging around the TV!!! The only time he pays any attention to his toys is when i put them over a spot he likes to chew and he quickly throws them out of the way in order to get back to the carpet or wire!!!
Is he bored? or is this a destructive teenage phase (he's 8 months old!)?! does anyone have any ideas of what i can get that might occupy him for a bit?!

Re: Bored Bunny!!!
I found that all I could buy from shops was tunnels or a bit wood with a bell. I was at the cash and carry and saw loads of parrot toys which some re suitable for rabbits, hanging toys with ropes and coloured woods. Have a look at midland parrot toys, the majority of the are suitable and if you go for the larger parrot toys they are made to withstand things like mccaws so they will take a rabbit
Re: Bored Bunny!!!
Ive tried most of the make your own toys ive seen online (jay's included) which hi liked for a while but now wont even go near them!!! he just seems lazy, and thinks the carpet is more fun!!!
I will try looking for some parrot toys, i hadn't thought of that!!! I think im going to have to find something fowl tasting to spray on the carpet to stop him eating it!!!!

I am not too sure but I know you can buy it concentrate at the chemist and dilute it down. We use it for training pups and I used it on the hutch doors to stop them eating it.

Re: Bored Bunny!!!
I feel your pain! Thumper is exactly the same and she's 10, so perhaps it's not a teenage thing!
I've bought her every toy I can and made my own, nothing interests her. Well.... except from the OH's model dodge viper. That she wants to play with.
Chewing the carpet is a favourite of thumpers that I've never been able to knock on the head.

Re: Bored Bunny!!!
It's the time of year to hunt up some good ash twigs. Mine have always loved twigs with bark to strip, not dried up old things.
If he persists in chewing an' wrecking... serve him with an ASBO (AntiSocial BunnyOder)!

Re: Bored Bunny!!!
could go to the carpet shop and get a long tube (form the insides of the carpet) you get these free. remember to take a saw just incase you cant get it in the car lol. I have a few buckets and plastic boxes scattered about the garden with holes sawed out of them so mine can play in them. or a little play tent full of hay etc with little treats in, I bought the bairn one but the rabbits bullied her out of it now she is not allowed on there turf
Re: Bored Bunny!!!
or go to the carpet shop and buy some carpet samples and place over the spots he likes to chew. Gives him something to do and will save your actual carpet underneath.

Re: Bored Bunny!!!
Some good advice I was given was if it involves food or wrecking something to get to some food it's usually a winner. Toilet rolls, cardboard boxes, those wire treat balls you can stuff with hay or veggies, bunny safe paper to shred (supervise them tthough, you don't want them munching it!)

Re: Bored Bunny!!!
Thanks everyone! I was thinking of going to the carpet shop for a big tube for him!!! I have been giving him toilet tubes stuffed with hay and treats, which he has been enjoying, but only for a few mins before he is back to trying to pull the caging out from around the TV!!!
Has anyone got that teach and treat toy? I saw it in p@h and i think buttons would enjoy it and understand it, but worried about him getting bored of it quickly, as it isnt the cheepest toy!!!
I was also wondering about ringing a tree surgeon and asking if they have any branch cuttings going free, as that should be appealing!!! But what kinds of wood are best?

Re: Bored Bunny!!!
I got a nice box and filled it with straw. My monsters loved it! Although this was the result:
Admittedly, this is a problem, and there was a flaw in the box (missing one end) but they enjoyed it, so a few days with a floor covered in straw was totally worth it! When we finally set up the new microwave I shall try again...

Re: Bored Bunny!!!
hahaha!! yea my lounge has looked like that many a time and resulted in the vacuum becoming clogged afterwards!!!
I was wondering about getting this to hide treats under:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/170664618520?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649
And wondered if these might be a bit more appealing as he loves his corn treats so these might keep him occupied for a while!!

I seem to spend hours looking at stuff to buy him and keep thinking if i was a bunny i'd love that, but buttons is a picky little sod!!!

Re: Bored Bunny!!!
My 2 also love their russel rabbit feeding balls. Either put their pellets in it and make them work for their dinner, or stuff it with hay and treats
