Re: Smokey-Joe
He is my rescue, previous owner left him wandering the streets near where I live with a infected and broken paw. He was skinny and frightened but always let me fuss him on the street. His left paw healed funny because when he broke it it was ages before we rescued him but he is in no pain but doesn't use it at all. He has a grade 4 heart murmur and I think if we hadn't taken him in he wouldn't be alive now. My oh told me he saw him limping one day and I was on my way back home and saw him and got my oh to bring the carrier we had had Tiger for about 2 weeks by this point took him home and got him to vets next day they neutered him and removed the damaged toe gave him antibiotics and we couldn't let him go back out after that so we kept him and Tiger took quite a shine to him the night we got him home before going vets Tiger cuddled up to him and wouldn't leave him alone after that. (sorry for the long post)

Ah Bless him how could his x-owner leave him like that he's gorgeous. It's a good job you rescued him as like you said he may not have survived, I bet he is far better off now than he was with his x-owner

Re: Smokey-Joe
A woman along the road said she knew his previous owners and she said I can tell he is far better off with you she said his coat had no shine to it before but with you its all glossy and he has fattened up and he has a sparkle in his eye. He is a mummy boy he either curls up under my arm, in between my legs or he sleeps on my pillow

He is a very pretty boy!
Sounds like he is a very lucky boy that you found him and took him in.

Re: Smokey-Joe
We knew him even when he was younger he used to come to our house for food, Lived with my Mum and her OH at that time and he used to eat our Charlie's food that was about for over a year then I moved into my place in 2009 and a few weeks later found him injured and took him in. RSPCA paid for his consult, all we had to pay was his castration and removel of the damaged toe, they x-rayed his paw but said thats an old injury and despite how it appears he isn't in any pain at all. RSPCA was very happy for us to keep him.
