Re: Woodwench's World.
Thank you for the kind comments!
And Thank You Maysie for posting the pics!
The dogs and birds are sadlly no longer with me. Kiki was mine from puppyhood: 1968 to1984. Merlin as a pup from 1975 - 1982. Sollee as a pup from 1982 - 1991. Misty was a rescue at 10 months old in 1991 and she was my dream dog, so intelligent she made me wonder who was brightest, her or me! She was 16 when I lost her in 2005. In 2006 I took on Penny from Fenbank Greyhound Rescue. She was elderly (no one knew her exact age) and I had her until 2008. I don't have a dog now.
Pumba was my fave zebra finch, he was proud dad of 3 boys, Wlater, Homer and Sonic and during his 11yrs he had 3 wives: Pi, Peace and Pru.
The cottage was built in 1862 and is great in summer but bloody cold in winter. There's no central heating and with all that snow over the last 2 winters I was taking a bath in an unheated bathroom and sleeping in an unheated bedroom!
Poor Algie was one of 9 feral cats I've fed over the past 7yrs. All have died as the result of RTA's on the A16. Algie was my favourite and he was killed on the 2nd of Sept. I really miss him being in the garden.

Re: Woodwench's World.
Your fur babies were all beautiful
Your house is amazing! I bet it's a lovely place to live but I will admit, despite being from chilly north east Scotland - I'm a pansie and would die without central heating
But I bet the location makes it worth it

Re: Woodwench's World.
Definitely the location. In a wood with all manner of birds, roe deer, muntjac deer, fox and badger, stoat, weasel and pole cat. We have finally got otters back in the valley.
I've lived here since I was 10 months old and I've never known the fear some towns folk have of their neighbours. My nearest neighbour is over half a mile away!

Re: Woodwench's World.
The winter picture makes me want to ask if the walls are gingerbread? Do have an oven large enough for 2 pesky children? Have you been practicing your cackle?

Re: Woodwench's World.
No oven in this house, not even a gas or an electric one. I have a microwave but it doesn't cook meat... I'm vegan.
The last cackle heard here died with the last hen in 1974!
