Flora's health check
Flora Dora the Flowerpot Explorer has been for her myxi and had a full health check
Everything was good and she behaved herself wonderfully Flopsy didnt go with her as the little monkey legged it when the carrier came out He did, however, check her over when she returned
Booked Flopsy in for next month for his cylap, hmmmm wont be as easy getting him in his carrier

Re: Flora's health check
Glad it went well!
Has flopsy had cylap before? Some buns have bad reactions to that particular VHD vaccine

Re: Flora's health check
I think Thumper has had it before too and she never had any side effects either. But our vet uses anivac now.
I guess we are just lucky

Re: Flora's health check
Is anivac more current than cylap or is it because of buns' reactions?
Will ask my vets when i take Flopsy why they use cylap instead of anivac.
Thanks for info

Re: Flora's health check
Bruce and Flo have had Cylap all their lives (7 and 4 respectively) and this year suddenly they had a reaction and developed a limp and were both quite under the weather. My vets are going over to anivac now which is quite new to the market. Get you vets to re-read the info that comes with Cylap as they changed the info to reflect that more than 50% of buns have some sort of reaction. I would never let my buns have cylap again.

Re: Flora's health check
I vaguely remember hearing something along the lines of....
Anivac used to be sold in a bigger pack but could only be kept open for a certain amount of time so vets were wasting it and thus not cost effective. But now it is sold in single doses making it more appealing to vets.
No side effects (that I've heard of) and happier customers, so why not use anivac?
Please someone, correct me if I'm wrong

Re: Flora's health check
It was lapinject that is sold in the larger amounts. I think Anivac is new.

I'm so glad that Flora Dora the Flowerpot Explorer passed her health check and I hope you gave her a gold star because I think if Flopsy see's it he will want one and just fly into his pet carrier

Re: Flora's health check
I love the solidarity shown by Flopsy! Tell him he ought to be ashamed of himself sending the wife off to the demon vets alone!
Anivac is a new vaccination for VHD, previously to this the options were cyclap (some nasty side affects) and Lapinject (good but only available in packs of five doses).
I would advise anyone to ask for Anivac instead of Cyclap.

Re: Flora's health check
Oh when Flopsy catches a glimse of a carrier he's off never seen him move so fast
He tried to hide in the corner of the garden but i dont think he realised the grass is green yet he is fawn so he kinda sticks out like a sore thumb
Am going to put carrier in run to see if i can get him used to it before his appointment, well i can only try
