bought this for the babys
http://www.gardenbuildingsdirect.co.uk/Wooden-Playhouses/Mad-Dash-Bunny-Playhouse
I just ordered this for the babys, will do same as charlies line it for the winter, its even better than charlies, would like to join them but not sure how to do it, plenty time to deside that, might have to just cut a hole under the window on and make a tunnel to charlies if they dont fight that is. but think its far better than a cheap hutch.

Re: bought this for the babys
Why shouldnt they get as good as charlie, dont you agree. Its cheaper than a hutch (a good hutch) offers more room and ability to insulate it easier thats my xmas to myself lol hubby doesnt have to find me anything now, I am happy as long as my babys are happy and warm.

Re: bought this for the babys
I dont need anything, ornimants only clutter up what little space I have, and I hate touching dust just freaks me out, hubby had to do it at the weekend cos I couldnt go near it lol. He just done it without even being asked . Kyle loves going out to see the babys, looking forward to building there house and sorting it all, thinking about moving it to the wall by the garage away from the drain, just incase it floods, the weather is getting really bad, if I move it there I might make a sheltered run from the house along the wall to the play houses for when the weather is like this, get soaked just trying to open charlies door, its swollen with the cold so have to really pull with both hands to get it open, one of these times the handle will come off not funny if cant get into him. Also want to put them up on bricks or 2 x 2 week beams to lift them off the cold. Deffo think will move charlie today if hubbys back is up for it. If we can move it that is, might need an extra pair of hands. the run to the house will also be great for the kids to get out and in easier.

Re: bought this for the babys
It's brilliant, and as you say, cheaper and better that a hutch. Maybe we should be advising this to new owners, as an alternative?
Re: bought this for the babys
Thanks jay, take that as a complement, I looked at hutches, for a really good size one (I like them to have loads of room) your talking about £200 - £300 unless you know someone thats a fab joiner who can build you a strong one, these offer more security, wont blow away in the wind, can be lined much easier with insulation (i used polystirene roll or tiles I am sure there other things you could use I just thought that was most suitable open to more opinions for babys house) then boards over that so the bunny wont get poisoned from it, its fully covered and its much easier to wipe clean than bare wood. I would advice using little battens of wood or metal brackets tho at the edge of each sheet, the weather has made it swell a bit so sticks up in section, charlie cant get to these bits but hubby is gonna put bracets there anyway just to stop it getting worse. The new house has a better door than charlies, it has a stable door, so in the summer we can open the top door and let air in even if we put a little mesh door over it so they wont leap out, my friend said open it n leave it they wont escape but I know thats actually wrong they can leap 3ft in the air if they really wanted to. It also has more windows than charlies, 4 in total 2 large ones on each side and 2 small ones at the front, but 1 side window will get blocked off as its going to be pushed up close to charlies, no point in having a window if no light gets in. I was going to use it to build a bridge to charlies, but charlie doesnt have a level in his where he can reach it, unless I redo inside his, dont want to do changes to him tho, he has settled and is happy.
Cant wait tl get it done, wish it wasnt bleeding raining so much could make a start now

Re: bought this for the babys
Just ran out in the rain, measured the space I want to put the houses, they will fit and wont take up loads of space more sheltered from the rain as well and be easier to make a run round them, using the wall as a bracket.

Re: bought this for the babys
Make the level - buns like having stuff moved and changed around so they get to investigate it all over again. We also love having levels at different heights for sitting ondizzylynn wrote:but charlie doesnt have a level in his where he can reach it, unless I redo inside his, dont want to do changes to him tho, he has settled and is happy.

Re: bought this for the babys
deffo going to do that, hubby wants it done that way too lol, he loves his bunnys and has BIG plans on there half of the garden, weather pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeee improve so we can get started. charlie needs moved, wanted to do it today but we both have sore backs today typical. His brother is coming down tomorow and the kids are off with this strike so between us all I am sure we can move him over while Brooke plays inside the livingroom with him.
