Bruce going to the vets/ ud he's been

just for a health check tomorrow. It is coming around to teeth time and I don't want it to happen over christmas. I am also concerned that he has been a bit more grumpy recently. He has been having sleepy eyes most days so am wondering about the teeth roots as well as the spurs. He bones around his rump seem more prominent. And he seems much less willing to throw himself off the chairs in the dining room. So I am wondering whether he has some early arthritis. Can anyone think of other things I should be asking the vet to check?

I wouldn't feel that sorry for him, he isn't on the scrap heap yet! He is 7 so I am beginning to think about what more I can be doing for him. And he has become really perky since I made the appointment - but then I have specifically asked to see Marianne who is the bun vet.

Weight maybe, is he a nice weight for his age or could he be over weight (not meaning he is), if he has arthritis is it save to give him vitimans (eg cod liver oil in a tiny doze or glocosomean in even smaller doze) both help joints etc. Ear check, fur check.

How did Bruce get on?

He is going in the next 10 mins. (he doesn't know yet! Marianne the rabbit vet has been on farm duty today.

Isn't it nice when your vet says 'you're an RWAF member aren't you? I didn't see you at the conference. I really enjoyed it'.

Bruce's teeth are spurring so he is going in to have them done on tuesday. While he is under he is going to have head and spinal xrays to check for any root issues with his teeth and check for any spondylitis or arthritis. She has given me some metacam to give him in the mean time to see whether it makes any difference to his mobility/activity levels as this would also indicate he has been in pain.
