average consumption of hay for a rabbit a month
Just wondering if folks have an idea of how much bunnies eat in hay per month, on average, all buns are different I know some eat less than others but a rough guide would be helpfull for planning food deliveries. I have charlie medium size bunny 8 months old now approx (might be month younger but not older) the 2 babys who are between 10 - 14 weeks, Tina didnt take a note of the date they were born (helpfull that) so she estimated them to be 8 -10 weeks old when I got them 2 weeks ago, but I their small not sure if thats due to mum being a mini rex shes not a big girl. Dad is average. I normally buy the bags of timothy hay from pets at home, hate their own brand far to powdery, but since these bags are not really big I feel I maybe spending alot more than I need to be, I would prefer to get the good stuff for them but keep within a reasonable budget which is best done in bulk. Any thoughts guys.

Your best bet would be a bale from a farmer, they are usually around £5-7 and last weeks
Average hay consumption is not gonna be a definitive answer I'm afraid. You just have to go with your buns.
Stewie gets through about 1.5 Kg a month, give or take a few days either side. He only eats Mr Johnsons hay feast, and it costs about £3.00

Florences vet told me that bunnies "should" eat their body weight in hay a day. However I'm not sure if any do manage that. Florence does go through a lot, but nowhere near 1kg a day that's for sure!
The last lot I got was loose bagged, and was fantastic stuff, but because there was nno weight on it I'm not sure how much she has eaten. But I do top it up everyday.
