Not my old boy Please
Just made an appointment at the vet's for Gypsy his mouth is all wet and so is his front paws plus he had a very dirty bottom. It could be he needs a dental but he has never had problems before with his teeth. He is 7 years of age and very very nervous giving him medicine is a fight and after losing Pud to the GA I am so very worried if it's a dental problem. I don't think he will even cope being left at the vet's if we have to.
He is at the vet's tomorrow at 5.30 pm as our vet is off today.
Oh dear more worry

That's a long time to wait and I know you will be worrying every minute of it so my telling you not to worry won't make a scrap of difference.
But... TRY NOT TO WORRY!
Hope all goes well and Gypsy comes home with no major problems, just an upset tum like Loll had.

I know it's a long time but our vet is off and she is a brilliant rabbit vet and knows all our bunnies and we want her to see him, if he wasn't eating we would have gone today but he is,
I just hope and pray he doesn't have to have a dental as I will be in a right state

I really hope it turns out to be something minor
Do you ever use Pro-C? It's brilliant for upset tums, even if you only used it while waiting to see the vet....

Update Tuesday 13 th Dec.
His mouth is still very wet and I'm hoping he has a piece of cabbage or something stuck on a tooth as I have seen this before and the rabbit was soaked round the mouth but it need's to come out if that's it as his mouth can become infected and he could get an abscess. I'd rather it be that than a dental.
This 5.30 pm today is the only time we could get to see our own vet and we are lucky as she will always fit us in even if she is booked up.
I just hope he doesn't have to have a GA
Gypsy is a nervous bunny he will not be happy at the vet's and she will struggle to get anything in his mouth to check him and everything she does will stress him out and this worries me greatly.
I feel sick to my stomach with worry

Poor boy. I hope it goes ok.
Will be thinking of you at 530. Hugs for Gypsy. What's his story, has he always been a nervous little guy?

Yes he's ok round us but he just doesn't like strangers or being handled. I am very worried about him and wish we could get him in earlier today as he is very wet and he had a dirty bottom and the smell wasn't good he is also grinding his teeth now so his mouth is uncomfortable.
I really don't like the look of this he has had a really dirty bottom for the last two days and if that is not bad enough the weather here is awful, gales, heavy rain and snow showers

Re: Not my old boy Please
Do you know what type of GA your vet uses Maysie? I am wondering if there is a better option?

I don't like it as it seems to take the buns days to fully come round, Cloud was really bad and took about 4 days to come round fully and yet it's suppose to be one of the safest GA around , Pud didn't fully come round and he couldn't lift his head up at all although he tried, he had his dental op on the 4th November and died on the 6th November and I blame the GA, Mike and I have argued over this as I don't like it as the buns are taking too long to come round but Mike say's it's the safest. Pud seemingly had a reaction to it which killed him

Re: Not my old boy Please
Who is claiming it's one of the safest GAs? Is it worth getting a second opinion on?
Our lot were all fine within 24 hours of having a GA, despite our Humum being worried sick as there are so many of us she thought that the odds of losing one went up every time one of us went under.
