Some of the last Thumper pics I took.

I took these not long before we left to go to the vet on saturday. As most of you will know, Thumper died in the car en route. We didn't even make it out of the town we live in. Thankfully she wasn't in a carrier, she was on my lap/in my arms, wrapped in a towel.

I feel terrible because I don't think she could see anything passed the towel and I really hope I wasn't causing her any pain

It keeps playing on my mind





She looks so old and tired

She's so beautiful The second to last photo is lovely,

If you take away the context of knowing that she died soon after, I think they're actually nice pics.

She does look quite tired in the third one, but in the others she just looks like she's chilling out. She certainly doesn't seem to be in any great discomfort or distress. And I am sure that being with you at the end would have been more comforting than upsetting to her.

It *will* play on your mind, but I hope you believe all of us who say (and sincerely mean) that you could not have done more for her, or done anything differently. The fact that she lived to be over ten years old, and developed such a cheeky, happy character is a credit to you and the way you cared for her

It's lovely to see her again.

I hope that one day you can look back at old piccies with a smile on your face rather than a tear in your eye

omg,i didnt know,i just keep the chat bit up and dont really go on the other threads,iam so so sorry for your loss,i think everyone on here had a massive soft spot for Thumper,and i agree with everything sparky says,wise words

also she would have been in great comfort having her last moments with you,my little boy chinchilla,i had him 15 years and he died in my arms,its so heart wrenching

She was a very special lady and she stole a bit of everyones hearts here.

Honey, you wont have been causing her any pain, you were loving her and she would have known it.

Thumper owed the wonderful life she had to you and your wonderful care, and there is nothing more you could have done for her, you gave her the world.

Awwww she looks so peaceful

She looks really peaceful. Dear Thumper, she looks quite relaxed and content.

I wish all my animals had looked so happy! She had lead a long, fullfilling life with you and it is reflected in her peaceful expression.

You will look at these photos in due course and see how they reflect all the joy of her long life... they are beautiful.

Completely, she looks serene in that third pic, almost aware Very poignant photos, and very moving. I'm so sorry, I think you can see from the reaction here that Thumper had something that we could all share and recognise, and when these buns go, it rips us all

They are lovely pics, and as everyone else has said she just looks peaceful.

I hope you're doing ok. Just take comfort that she died where she was happy, in your arms

Looking at the pictures now on the laptop (rather than my phone) I can't help but notice how dark her eyes are in them. They were not normally dark like that

please try and not scrutinize the pics,she had the most wonderfull life with you,she lived with you for 10 amazing years,she was at peace and with the person she loved the most,who she knew you would have done anything for her,try and keep thinking of that
