Re: Questions about these potential babies!
I've had that a few times too but usually the first thought I have in the morning is that she's gone. She dies in every single dream I have about her. Always similarly to how it happened in realityJoeyBunsMum wrote:Thumper2001 wrote:Thanks Carla. It just b****y horrible. It's like losing her all over again. The brain is a mean thing! One minute in my dreams, she's alive and well and then she's gone. Again. It's always similar to how it really happened tooicedancer wrote: its just your conscious playing tricks on you. When something is in your mind you're more likely to dream about it, which isn't good when its something unpleasant.
Try and stop being so hard on yourself, or you'll just go crazy. I know that's easier said than done though. Thumper will always be with you, and will always be a massive part of you, but that doesn't mean you have to stop yourself from loving another pet
Those dreams are always tough. I've had them - it's like nothing has happened in your dream, they are still there and then you wake up and realise
I'm not helping matters here, but I too am slightly in love with Dave
Maybe I should ask the rabbit man to make one of the terms and conditions of Dave's adoption to be that his new owners MUST register on HH and keep us updated on his progress!

But good point Cheryl, Dave and Saacha are the same colour, the babies are a bit different. But sooo cute
Our girl Grace is black and she gave birth to 3 Lionhead babies, 2 white and 1 black, and 2 like herself 1 white and 1 honey coloured

I totally agree

Re: Questions about these potential babies!
Do you know what I have been thinking? That it might be such a good idea to get two babies as you will both share them from the beginning. Thumper was so clearly associated with you, but these babies would be for you and OH and he seems smitten with them too.
Maybe seeing him making a relationship with them will make it feel very different and then it won't feel like you are betraying / forgetting about Thumper. I think she would be happy as she wouldn't want you to be sad and lonely.

I agree with all you said Nickie! I KNOW your Thumper would want you to be happy! And in bunny think that would mean more bunnies! Remember dreams can be very deceiving. Your subconscious may be trying to get you let go of the grief by replaying it over and over until you let go of it. That's what a therapist told me once anyway when my first baby died. In my situation she was right.
Thinking of you and sending you vibes to help you deal with your loss. The intense grief WILL pass.

Rabbits can be preggo with 2 litters at once and they may have different sires. They have a horned shaped uterus so the 2 litters can develop individually. The doe can have one litter and then another weeks later. Needless to say this is very difficult on her.

Re: Questions about these potential babies!
I can totally see your point but unfortunately I don't think OH would ever build a "proper" relationship with buns. Although, he did feel Thumper's loss. I know he did. He's very confusing you know. Most of the time he would make on she was an inconvenience and roll his eyes whenever I asked him to help me with her but at the same time, he would do things like put her bedroom light on when he got home from work and sneak her a mange tout when I wasn't looking. I don't get himNickieM wrote:Do you know what I have been thinking? That it might be such a good idea to get two babies as you will both share them from the beginning. As stupid as this probably sounds, I don't want to let go of the grief. It would mean that's it. She's gone. Move on. I don't want to move on from her Sounds stupid, I knowgentl wrote:NickieM wrote:Do you know what I have been thinking? i dont think some men like to show that they get attached to animals, when i had chinchillias,i had charlie for about 13 years and he was on his way out,i phoned the vet to get an appointment for the next day but unfortunately he didnt make it but hubbie picked him up and he died in his arms,i was heartbroken, even hubbie shed a tear for him and he said he didnt like him, also i had another chinchilla called foxxy, she had a lot of problems with her teeth,i had to drive over 100 miles away for her to have an operation and she died a few hours after the op' he drove to go and get her, becouse i just couldnt go,so i do think they get attached to animals but just dont like to admit it

Re: Questions about these potential babies!
My hubby, although Dougal was his idea, keeps pretending he doesn't like him and the bunnies are mine (even though Florence has turned into his little girl - once she started kissing him he keeps asking her for them). However this morning he got up early "to feed the bunnies" and has given them a lot of cabbage tonight, and I overheard him tell them "Daddy is going to get you some more treats in the week" . I think he just doesn't want to admit he likes them

Re: Questions about these potential babies!
You are so lucky that he is like that! OH used to look at me like I had two heads whenever I called myself Thumper's mummy. And he certainly wouldn't have ever got up early especially to feed her.
It was a chore for him to do it before he went golfing on a Saturday morning
Although he did used to tell me stories about her bouncing around all excited for her breakfast.
Gawd, seems like a lifetime ago that she got excited for her breakfast. It was only mange tout she got excited for latterly. And even then there was less bouncing around, she would just climb all over me
