Litter Tray Question Empty Litter Tray Question

Post by FarplaceRescue Wed Feb 15, 2012 5:24 pm

A few of my bunnies wont use their litter trays. They always "go" in the same corner, and this is where I put the litter tray. But some of my bunnies throw the litter tray out of the way so they can use their favourite corner.
Any suggestions please?

We have dog beds for litter trays. Our humans bought them from Home Bargains for (I think) £3.99. They are ideal as they have a lowered section at the front so we can just walk in and out without having to jump.

Newspaper in the corner and patiently remove the paper when peed on and put in the litter tray, then put the tray back. Also consider put something in other than hay. My pair hate any form of litter but other buns insist on it.

Charlie and Annie are only just getting used to litter - before they much prefered just news paper with a little hay on top.

No I dont think so.

Daisy has a full box litter tray - a cat one with a little door - he likes a nice deep layer of litter and no paper. charlie and annie have two (cant decide where they want to poo) they will only put up with a teeny amount of litter and like newspaper.

Bruce and Flo have one big deep Cat litter tray with newspaper and hay in it. When I put litter in it they used to go outside the tray. They have litter in their digging box and they never pee in there.

I use plastic storage tubs and chuck any old absorbant stuff in from megasorb, newspaper, shavings and hay, they seem to like sitting in them with a hay rack above it.

Pooin' and chewin' is what they like doin'. Smile
