Bramble not eating
He just picked at his food yesterday, and today he refused to eat anything. Vet says his teeth are not too bad, and shouldn't be causing him any trouble - no spurs or anything.
He's had some metacam and some gut stimulant.
he's booked in for castration on Monday, and they will have another look at his teeth at the same time.
He would appreciate vibes please

Re: Bramble not eating
Vibes indeed.
Just because the vet can't see any spurs through the otoscope does not mean they are not there. Bruce is always quite a git for the vet when she gets the otoscope, sometimes GA is the only way to get a proper look.

Re: Bramble not eating
Spurs can sometimes only be seen under GA hun, so I would ask the vet to take a good look then hun.
I hope that the metacam helps. Have a good chat with the vet about having him castrated before they do it if he isnt eating as it might not be worth the risk.

Yes Good point katie. This vet is one that I totally trust with my bunnies (about an hours' travel time, but worth it).
he's eaten a little today, but still not his usual self.

Re: Bramble not eating
There's me here worrying about having a few teeth out. I would rather that than a bunny being poorly. I hope all goes well love.

Re: Bramble not eating
Bramble has just got back from the vets. They castrated him and checked his mouth. he has no dental issues at all. vet said that his teeth were the best bunny teeth she had ever seen. Because he had started eating a little while on the metacam, we think it must be a tummy issue. He is pooping ok, and eating hay (but not eating much else). I will just have to see how he goes. While ever he is nomming hay, I am not too worried - especially now I know it isn't dental.

Re: Bramble not eating
It's GREAT that he is nomming hay! More and more articles are really pushing hay as nearly the only thing our bunns should be eating. Our Thumper isn't much of a hay eater. He prefers phone books! Oh, and cardboard!
