Outside play on a nice day = no hay
Nice bit of rhyming there
It's been such a gorgeous day that I've finally been able to leave my two outside all day without having to worry about drowned rats. However, it seems that not much hay has been eaten.
They have lots in the shed and I made sure to put a tray of it out in the run too which has been touched, but only a little. The turf in the run (surrounded by slabs) is quite brown and dead with only a few sprouts of new green.
Anybody else experience this?

Oh I'd love to put some of our buns out but the grass is just saturated there's no way I can put them out on that.

I have had this too, matt is letting the guys out into the garden to free range from about 3pm, I let them out between 12.30 and 1.30 and they are having half an hour in the morning when Im cleaning out the shed. Ive noticed that they graze on all the grass (an anything else remotely edible) and so are not eating their hay. I dont think it matters as it is nice and high in fibre and brilliant for teeth.
