Woody takes my breath away sometimes and it never shows up on camera. He is literally magnificent. Not that I am biased. And Hamish is the epitomy of cute.
Re: Can We Have Some Horsey Pics Please ?
Where did Woody come from ? I know he was a Racer, but do you have any history on him ?
I have to be honest and say he is my dream Horse, absolutely stunning :luv:

Re: Can We Have Some Horsey Pics Please ?
Haha Jane you wouldn't be saying that if he was having one of his rather theatrical tantrums.
He was raced and then retired and retrained as a 3 day event horse. Eventually at around 14 he lost his boldness (he has some nasty scars and I suspect he got scared). So he was just left out in the field at a massive yard and mostly forgotten about. The lady I brought him from, Dee, used to visit this yard and when she saw Woody one winter, out in the field, shivering under a thin, tattered rug, she decided enough was enough and asked how much they wanted for him.
Dee had a riding school and originally intended to use him in there, however no one would get on him as they said he was too big (17hh). Anyway, Dee is only 4ft 11 and started to use him as her own horse. However a while later she had a car crash and broke both of her arms and wrists in several places.... after that she had many problems and found that he ws just too long in the neck for her to ride comfortably. So she turned him out with a mare that she had in foal, but noticed that he was getting bored and really felt for him, so she advertised him for sale, which is how I came to have him!
He was the first horse that I looked at and the only one!
He is lovely but not at all affectionate really. He doesn't know how to have a 1 to 1 human relationship. For example he won't let you have your head too close to his head
In the winter he is extremely moody as he hates the cold and the rain. Even summer showers can male him shiver! These fine boned thoroughbreds ey! And also I can't keep weight on him so am forever feeding him!
I once had a psychic reading done on him which was very accurate. He did say in that that he loved me! :luv: and was happy he had found me and understood that finally he would be with someone til his last breath. No more moving around. No uncertain future. I thought that was sweet. So he is a thankless git really but one that I adore all the same!

He is a beauty and the thing is that alot of the time, these big horses don't like little ponies, however he just adores Hamish..... even though Hame is a young scally wag. Yesterday Mum went to a Shetland pony show with a lady who keeps her shetlands in the neighbouring paddock to us. She met Hamishs breeder and got some history on him. It turns out that the poor wee chap went to a shetland pony auction I hate auctions and he was only a youngster so he must have been so scared! Awww. He is a lovely boy, naughty but fab. And doesn't have a nasty bone in his body. Neither does Woody. He has NEVER (touch wood) kicked or bitten anyone. He is a bit of a diva though and has injured me a few times having hysteical dramas over nothing. But he didn't mean too. :luv:
Helen - Woody is sexalicious, I always call him my sexy boy, so I am not suprised he gives you Wood!
Lucinda - Angus is :luv: and Minstrel is stunning! I love heavy horses...... what height does he stand at... he is beautiful.... really stunning. We need a nice summer pic of him, get that camera out into the field!
Re: Can We Have Some Horsey Pics Please ?
This is my horse Hilly.
:D
There are also 2 shetland ponies at my yard but i can't find any pictures of them.
Rosie is a chesnut mare and Tom a Silver Dun?? Gah.. they're not mine so i can't remember the real name of his colouring!

Re: Can We Have Some Horsey Pics Please ?
Right, she's 17 or 18 (lost count:lol: )
She's 16hh2inches tall
She's 3/4 Thoroughbred and 1/4 Cleveland Bay
She's a massive softie and has never kicked or bitten anyone.
She's really sensitive and when on hacks has hissy fits over plastic bags or a bird.
She's the comfiest ride ever and takes my breath away with her energy.
She has won many competitions with dressage and i swear she has a rocket planted in her behind!
I love my gorgeous girly :luv::luv::luv::luv:
Re: Can We Have Some Horsey Pics Please ?
