Puppy Play Pens for Rabbits/Guinea pigs
I have just ordered 2 puppy pens off ebay, 1 for the boarding Guinea pigs, and one for an extra play pen and if anyone is after a play pen I think they are very reasonably priced and delivery is free ( which makes a big difference)
Anyone interested and this is where I ordered mine http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110832863885&var=410078376778

Re: Puppy Play Pens for Rabbits/Guinea pigs
I have one of those, I use it for the buns when they are out in the garden. I want a bigger run for them, but I've struggled to find something decent and worth the money. Part of my problem is that things have to be put away, or cemented in as things have a tendency to walk round here, so it has to be big but foldable!
I'd do something myself, but my DIY skills are nil.

We buy them because they are foldable and we can put them away when they are not in use
I've ordered them today and just had an email to say they have been dispatched so that's quick service

Re: Puppy Play Pens for Rabbits/Guinea pigs
Thanks Maysie
Humum has been thinking about giving us supervised access to the grass on the front lawn occasionally, so one of those pegged down to the ground could be ideal

Re: Puppy Play Pens for Rabbits/Guinea pigs
I bought one of these, a tall one but it was a bit wobbly cos of the height. Great value though. I built a wooden frame for it and made a rabbit run for the rexes that is permenantly attached to their play house. Nice and safe for them.

Re: Puppy Play Pens for Rabbits/Guinea pigs
On this one can you adjust the panels so not all have to be used? That's not described very well but you know what I mean!! F & Ds one you can, but you can't adjust the shape of it so I think it's going to be a pain in the bum when I move, so looking at getting one that can be square/rectangular. But ideally I'd like it so I gave them more room when I was out, then remove some of it when I'm home so they can run about the living room.

Re: Puppy Play Pens for Rabbits/Guinea pigs
I've been looking at mine, and I'm trying to figure out if there is a way of taking it apart and joining 2 together to give my pair a bigger run, but I can't figure it out.

I been looking at these, I want a foldable run for them and wondered if 2 pens could somehow in lip and fit together to make a bigger area.
Any ideas anyone??

Yes you can adjust the panels and change the shape of it we do. If you want to make them smaller just overlap the panels against each other.
If you have the ones that we bought you can take them apart you have to get a screwdriver and prise open the hinge but of course you can't do this all of the time.

These are 3 pens here, the two black ones at either side of the silver one are from Ebay (above) you can take apart most of the wire dog pens, we use a lot of Savic ones. The black ones take apart like I said on the above message to Icedancer, the Savic ones with the metal spikes in have a metal spike to keep the hinges together just take it out and add another panel and put the spike back in.
These are our indoor bunny boarding pens and they are all savic, we have added panels to make a decent sized play pen.
Enya & Roly's indoor cage & play pen.

These are such nice areas for the buns! I'll bet they LOVE to come spend a holiday there with all the toys and elegant surroundings.

Re: Puppy Play Pens for Rabbits/Guinea pigs
Iv just received my new pen from the link on ebay you sent, very pleased, but its got a weird door that you can't get into the pen with??
On your pictures it looks like its a full height door, so people can open and step into? Am I right?

The savic ones have a door but Mike's made it so you can get in and out by cutting bits off the door, the ones on ebay have tiny doors but leave it with me I will let Mike have a look because he makes them so you can open them up and walk in and out I will ask him how he does it, he's at the vet's at the moment with 2 bunnies

Right Mike said he doesn't know if you will be able to do it with the ebay pens but with the Savic pens what he does is usually get's an hacksaw and cut's off the top section above the door this enables the door to be open and you can walk in, but he's had a look at the ebay pens that we have that our nethies are in and he doesn't think you will be able to do it , it depends on how much there is above the door. You will have to check as well as it will make the panels at either side a bit wobbly.
