What I did yesterday - VERY PIC HEAVY

My hubby got me a Falconry Day as a gift and it was yesterday.

It was the BEST day!

Here is me with Fagin the Vulture who was a real cheeky boy!



Then we went on to handle Galaxy....what a gorgeous little chap!



This is Tolkien who is so beautiful he literally took my breath away.




And these are two Harris Hawks, Clare (who was a very cheeky bird) and Flo, both were birds rescued from the illegal live bird trade.
We learned to send them off and to call them back, the interaction with them was amazing!






What a day!

That would scare me silly, big birds petrify me hehe. Although I do love Owls, they are about the only ones!

Oh wow! I have done this and it is just a fantastic feeling to have something so huge and magnificent that lands on your arm they are so beautiful. I'm one of those people when you go to displays and they ask would anyone like to have a go I put my hand up and say 'Yes Please' and I am usually the only one

What an amazing gift! I have done this with a Tawny Owl before but nothing as big as some of those beauties.

How fabulous, what magnificent creatures

The Hu-parents once went to a fireworks / music show at Leeds Castle in Kent. Just before it started they let all the birds of prey out (I guess otherwise they would have freaked out) and they came swooping across the lake in the dark and away over the heads of the crowd. Humum says it was the highlight of the evening

What beautiful photos love, I used to be involved with birds of prey during my first marriage I had a lovely little owl called Jodey who I used to fly, I miss her so very much.

What a wonderful gift. Just up your street.

We have a Falconery Centre nearby and when the kids were young we went there quite a lot. I got to hold an American Bald Eagle once and when it took off, what a kick it gave me. You realise how strong they are then.
