URGENT APPEAL! Rescue space needed for 40 rabbits!

Rescue in Derby due to close. 40 rabbits WILL be PTS this Saturday if rescue space not found. We can only squeeze in a couple. Can any rescues help?

Are you able to update us about who is co-ordinating this rescue Anna? Yesterday it all seemed like a mess.

Transport can be arranged to rescues.

How can they just be planning to have them PTS? I'm absolutely horrified It makes me feel sick. I wish there was something I could do but I'm too far away.

Of course I will update. We are taking 4. I wish I could take more, but we have a lot of rabbits in at the moment so no more room

They have been asked and are unable to help. So far only 3 rescues are helping.

Goodness me? Do you know if they have contacted RWAF they may be able to put out an appeal?

Does that include the local rspca centre rather than the main rspca? There were messages yesterday on facebook saying they would be able to take some animals. Also are rescues being contacted by non-facebook methods? Apart from the local rspca centre (which I have posted the message to) the local centres down here (woodside in plymouth, animals in distress at ipplepen and the Animal ambulance in barnstaple) are all not on facebook. I know woodside have taken in animals from elsewhere before. But I suspect someone official in the rescue operation would need to contact them.

Ros is aware generally of the situation - she is manning the helpline at the moment. But worth checking whether they have become further involved.

God I hope they find homes.

From what I understand she is a back street breeder and has done this before

Thank God! I will ask Mike when he get's home from the vet if we can take any but we have limited space and money at the moment

So can the hutches go with the buns? Or are they unsuitable?

Just thinking people might be more likely to take them on if they're coming with accommodation.

I am trying to think of the proper rabbit rescues. Apart from the reading one I was trying to think of rescues between derby and here where a couple of rabbits may be able to be dropped off at each stop on the way.

And there are RSPCA centres at taunton (west hatch) and weston super mare.
