How is Father Jack doing?

He's really quite snotty and quite subdued

He's eating reasonably but Humum is not convinced he is eating enough as he's not eating many pellets and if they leave them down Layla stuffs her face with them apart from when Humum hand-feeds him behind the sofa

She is going to take him back to the vet on Monday, check his weight and see if they can put him on the Alamycin jabs instead of Baytril.

Oh, and he took his Baytril from Hudad quite nicely tonight, having made a massive fuss about it with Humum for the last four nights

How are you doing now Father Jack?

Daddy has been back to the vet today. He still has some snot up one nostril and a tiny bit of congestion on his chest. Humum has two weeks supply of Baytril for him (poor Jack) as even after his symptoms clear he'll need to be on it for a week. He doesn't mind it quite so much with the banananana baby food and when Hudad gives it to him.

They're also going to keep nebulising him twice a day.

His weight is stable and he seems fairly bright - he's running around outdoors in the sun now

Jack's been back to the vet's this evening - although he is much improved, especially in the last couple of days, Humum really wanted to get him off the Baytril as they just can't find anything to give it to him with that he finds acceptable.

The vet is quite pleased, his chest is clear now and one nostril is completely clear. He's on the Alamycin jabs for a fortnight and they are going to keep on with the nebulising.

He is much brighter though

Yep, no more Baytril - Humum didn't see any point stressing him out when stress is one of the things that makes pasteurella worse. The Alamycin jabs are what I have when I have a bout of pasteurella - I don't even notice I'm being injected and they definitely work on the strain we have

I'm so pleased to hear that progress is being made
