Getting more confident
Sasha is coming on in leaps and bounds being indoors. Today when Chris came home from school in the afternoon he let her out and she was doing bunny 500s round her pen and binkies.
She loves just being able to hop in and out of the pen and is starting to get a lot braver and explore a wee bit further. Tonight she even had her little bunny lips on the wire of my PC charger. She is starting not to be scared of 'No'now. That's taken two days! Scary.

Humum says: A sharp noise like 'uh-uh' seems to be more effective than the softer 'no'
Sparky says: Then, Sasha, when your Humum is feeling smug that she has stopped you doing something norty, you hop out of sight and do something else norty
We're both pleased that she seems to be settling so well as a house rabbit

Re: Getting more confident
Indeed it is. I have a big piece of board blocking off the side of the sofa where all those juicy wires are. She is intrigued by it and would like to get in there. She goes and stares at it a lot!! She is very very good and spends a lot of her time in her pen but she does like the door left open. If she has gone into her hidey hole and you close the door, she shoots out and stands and bites the bars as if to say, 'Oy, you, open up!'
What I can't get over - and perhaps I am being to quick here - is that we haven't had a single poop or wee anywhere other than her litter tray. She is so incredibly clean. It was obviously Dave who was the minger!
I will keep her indoors until I get a more secure outdoor set up organised and then get her a friend so she isn't lonely, but I think that my livingroom would be too warm for her in the summer as it is practically all glass and gets very warm. It's OK just now because Christopher is home from school at 1.00 and he lets her out and opens the windows to cool the room - he is completely smitten and she adores him.
At the moment I am loving having her indoors but would like to be able to have my plants off the diningroom table!

Yes indeed. Dining tables are for growing loads of bunnylicious herbs

Re: Getting more confident
She is having a sleep just now as she has had an hour of terrorising my plants, nipped my leg going for my trousers and done some tiring binkies. Time for a nap!

Re: Getting more confident
Of course she needs a nap - she needs the energy to work out a strategy for getting past that board to those lovely cables, and up on the table to the nommy plants

Re: Getting more confident
Well she got even more manic! We had had crazy running and some incredibly acrobatic binkies. She has spent the whole evening exploring and eventually I went and sat on the floor and she was over like a flash. Climbing all over me and trying to nip my trousers. She is absolutely amazing. (She also managed a sneaky nibble of one of the few plants that I hadn't moved!)

Sasha sounds like a real little love. Do you like having a housebun? Nothing like trying to sleep in and a 10 lb rabbit jumping on your stomach saying "FEED ME"!
