Are slugs dangerous??
Iv noticed recently a few slugs gathering around the entrance of the rabbits shed in the evening, before I shut them in for the night.
Obviously the rabbits can touch the slugs so Im a bit worried?? :S

If the snails are infected they can cause lungworm in dogs if the dog eats them.

don't know for rabbits but maysie is right if they are infected they cause lung worm for dogs so i would assume they are not good for a rabbit either

Re: Are slugs dangerous??
I know about the risks with dogs, I have 3 dogs myself but they aren't in the dogs garden, just in the rabbits :S
How can I get rid of them without harming the rabs??

Re: Are slugs dangerous??
I used to wonder the same thing because I used to pick snails out of Thumper's hutch now and again when she was an outside bun. All I found was contradictory information I'm afraid
Most said they aren't harmful to buns (they never did her any harm, other than scare her!) but there were a few that said they weren't so sure, so I guess you won't want to take the risk.
There are some ways to kill them, but I'm not going to encourage that
Apparently they don't like copper. One suggestions I've seen is to put copper rings around the legs of hutches, I guess you could put some around the door to the shed?
Sorry... I'm probably not being very helpful
