There are 349 member of on the wonk (including me although I rarely post there). I can tell you that it is quite an active forum. It is not exclusively to do with head tilt, it is more a general rabbit health forum with a specialism in E.C. I have seen posts from vets over there as well. It really is well worth joining as most people there have had rabbits with e.c. You also don't need a Yahoo account, you can sign in with a google or facebook account.

Re: HELP PLEASE .... Bunny in to much pain... UD RIP BINKY.
GOOD AFTERNOON.... and it is good....
We have POOPs ... lots of them....
Binky has not required any painkiller , seems comfortable , no growling , grunting etc andis sleeping well. His head is still wobbly but there has been no signs of a wry neck yet today.
He has been stuffing his face via cookie syringe , he gets so excited everytime He is also still having his critical mix.
After his breakie , he lay in the sun with his legs spread right out and sunbathed . He also dreamt for the first time again
Im so grateful for this change around today, just hope and pray it continues.

Dawn, this has made me SO happy! Good boy Binky! Keep making wonderful mounds of poos and
nom nom real good for your Mommy. She loves you very very much. Time for you to be all better
Binky Boy! Get some good rest, lay in the sun and play, especially doing the binkies you are
named after. You also need good rest Dawn. Do something(s) fun for you!

Thanks for asking... its not been a good day ... he has been unbalanced and scanning a lot , to make matters worse I lay down for an hour to get some sleep and when I got up he had bashed his nose again in his cage .. blood everywhere.. Ive already put teddies and padding obviously not enough. He end up having a low dose painkiller and getting a new padded cell courtesy of the inside of a pill covered in fur rugs.. if you were sultan you would be impressed... !!!
Still managed to syringe feed him every couple of hours. He is eating more and drinking less, so urinating less, not sure if that is a good sign or not at this time... worried about vet appointment tomorrow and if there is still blood/protein in his urine ..
He is a poorly bunny .... just dont know if he can recover from everything that is wrong.

Re: HELP PLEASE .... Bunny in to much pain... UD RIP BINKY.
Oh dear Bless him he is having a time of it and you also
Mike once got some of his socks and stuffed a towel in one sock and the end of the towel in another and he made like a draught excluder that he put round the indoor cage he also does it for old bunnies and Baby Saint and Helen have one of his sock made draught excluder's to lean on.
When you syringe feed him Dawn if you don't already , I'd give him 2 syringes of food and then 1 of water. Then at least you know he is having some water.
I honestly hope with all my heart that he will improve and I will be thinking of you both tomorrow at the vet's.

thank you
thats a god idea with the socks and towel .... at the moment he is leaning on a kitchen roll ! Socks and towel sound a much better idea .. Im going to do it now. thank you
I do that with the syringe , 2 food , one water. He is such a good boy and eaten quite a bit.. just wanted to get some more in him before bed but the scanning is so bad tonight he wont eat anymore... whats worse is I can tell he wants his mashed banana gets so excited then starts scanning... Hope tomorrow will be better.

Re: HELP PLEASE .... Bunny in to much pain... UD RIP BINKY.
Oh im sorry to hear he seems to have gone downhill again. What I would day is you should put his pain killer up high again. If he seems better it's prob cos the pain killer is working, I would keep the dose high so that he can eat and function without pain.
Once the cause has been properly identified then reduce it Hun, but for now if it were me I'd keep the pain meds up full.

thanks Katie... Binky hasnt been in pain since Saturday so we reduced his painkiller. He is eating again but only mushed food via a syringe when encouraging him.
I have to say mentally he just doesnt seem to be with us, the scanning and dizzy spells are much worse. His quality of life is now very poor.

Re: HELP PLEASE .... Bunny in to much pain... UD RIP BINKY.
We put Binky bunny to sleep ... we all agreed he had gone to downhill especially in the last 48 hrs and had no quality of life.... he also still had high blood/protein in urine , probably due to renal failure.
I stayed with Binky until the end.... very sad but he is at peace.
Thank you so much for all of your support I wouldn't have got through this week without you.

Oh I'm deeply sorry because I know how hard you tried with him, but if he was in renal failure you have done the kindest thing for him by letting him go as he just wouldn't have got better, we had to have Holly pts due to renal failure 2 years ago there is just nothing you can do for them
