mini rex's shy????
I was chatting to the lass from pets at home, telling her I had 2 mini rex cross/english buns, and she said they are really shy how do I find them, shy???? since when, my 2 are so sweet and come straight to you when you go to the door/gate for a cuddle, nothing shy about them. Does anyone else find this statement to be true or untrue

Re: mini rex's shy????
i think it totally depends on the individual bun and not the breed.

Me too, charlie is a lion head cross english, he is more shy then the other 2, he is really sweet once he is in your arms but he shys away from attention when you get to close mostly.

Re: mini rex's shy????
well i have a netherland dwarf that is shy, and most people told me before i got him he would be lively and aggressive .... he is neither. So i don't think peoples expectations of breeds are entirely correct. Its probably more they are nervous as they are in a shop surrounded bt lots of people and sounds they don't know or trust.

Re: mini rex's shy????
I noticed a change in smokey when he got put with rosie, he is no longer showing any aggression at my daughter, he now is happy for her to come into his house, that and she stopped playing with him. Hes not a playing with toys he prefers a tickle, rosie prefers a cuddle. Charlie hides but if you pick him up he cuddles in, just groomed him, omg HAIR EVERYWHERE

Re: mini rex's shy????
I think some people forget they are as individual as we are. I know certain breeds are known to be irascible, but it wouldn't stop me having one as I don;t think they are all the same. I totally agree with you Amelia66 love.

Re: mini rex's shy????
I think there appears to be a general 'rule' for each breed of bun- but I think it's just what people have found of buns they've been with.
I personally think it is dependent on each bun.

Re: mini rex's shy????
Its like that for everything, dogs have alot of breeds that are nippy, or aggressive but its not the dog its down to the owner training the dog. Snakes can even be same, my friends royals are sweet hearts, 1 is a comic while some of her others are so shy you wont even see them, like my mia, never see her but jakes out watchign the kids wanting attention.
