Poorly Pumpkin :(
Pumpkin is poorly again. He's lost weight ,not eating his nuggets... so took him back to the vet.
One lung is full of gunk
Urine has to much gravity... watery not good ... maybe start of kidney failure
He has a bit of urine scold, due to being a bit incontinent which may or may not be due to arthritis in the hips/leg
and to top it all off one of his teeth has started to spike....
He has been on Septrin for a few days.. he's eating his greens and cookies ..as many cookies as he likes is on the menu.
We are giving him panacur just incase and rantidine to get his appetite going. Vaseline on the nether region.
Vet is going on hols so he goes back in 10 dys for a check up....
To look at him you wouldnt know what was going on inside that little body
He is still wanting to go out and get his nose rubs. Hopefully we can come through this ........
Poor boy... he is only 7 ... but vet says we have to treat him like a geriatric !
I think its all he has been through in the past year doesnt help....
thanks for reading this.

Re: Poorly Pumpkin :(
Dawn! And a gentle nose touch for Pumpkin. I'm sending all the Haremail Squadrons
with naval support full of get well vibes for the handsome Pumpkin. I do hope
everything sorts it self quickly and he gets on the mend.
Have you tried a non-petroleum product on his bum? Seems the Vasoline could hurt his
tummy.

Re: Poorly Pumpkin :(
Hi,
Just got back... our normal bunny savy vet is on hols....
His urine is 1.010 specific gravity which does indicate something is going on but its not full on kidney disease... thinking about whether to have his bloods done see how much poss EC might have damaged kidney function... but there are other problems to deal with.
Vet can still hear his heart... either heart is enlarged or there is still gunk/infection in his lungs. Will know more when bunny savy vet is back. We ahve beenb in this position before.
Pumpkin has started dribling today... presumably due to his tooth spike growing.
Vet doesnt think he will make it through surgery to bore down spike...
We've been in this situation with his lungs before and brought him back to health on the wing of a prayer and meds. Not sure we have time..
WHY does he have to have a spike now Looks like it is quite far back so not sure there is any chance of dealing with it whilst awake on diazapam.
Past few days he has been better in himself eating more greens/cookies and sexual relations with his toy g/f ... so we are keeping him on Septrin and Panacur and wait till bunny savy vet comes back next Thurs ...seems a very long to wait with a drooling bunny...
His weght is the same 2.45 and should be 3kg.
Its hard to remain positive for his outcome .. but at least he seems very active at the moment hopping around the garden. Take each day as it comes.......
