Favourite veg/herbs.
Molly and Junior have hated everything I've tried them with apart from carrot and banana (I do realise banana isn't a vegetable or a herb ). And even then, carrot is off the menu for a while because Junior had dodgy poops after. (I know they shouldn't get it often anyway!)
I think I'm destined to always have fussy bunnies
What's a hit with your buns?
Thanks!

Re: Favourite veg/herbs.
Myrtle loves broccoli - thats her favourite and she will be stroppy with us if we don't give her any. She will also eat savoy cabbage (but only the greenest leaves).
Parsnip and carrot in small amounts but daily.
She likes beetroot too but doesn't get it very often as it makes a mess of our living room carpet as she munches it away from her bowl.
These others also get munched but are not favourites:
cauliflower
kale
spring greens
basil
parsley
pansies
lavendar
dandelion
Also fruits:
Apple
banana
blueberries
cherries
grapes
orange melon (but not green or red melon)
plums
Overall she isn't too fussy. When we tried to feed her a piece of orange she was very suspicious and stared at it for ages before dragging her bed over to get comfortable so that she could settle in for a whole afternoon of staring at the orange - we had to take it away in the end

Re: Favourite veg/herbs.
Carrot tops are a big favourite! Baby spinach. Radish tops. Rocket.
Strawberries, raspberries, blueberries.
Strawberries, raspberries, blueberries.
Re: Favourite veg/herbs.
What have the terrible two rejected? Maybe they just take after you
Coriander is lovely.
Parsley second fave but I'm not allowed loads.
I'll eat mint and basil but only after everything else has gone.
Jack goes loopy for mange tout.
Rocket and wild rocket.
Broccoli - again only little bits.
My Humum once persuaded me to lick a sliver of cooking apple. She wishes she had a picture of the face I pulled

Re: Favourite veg/herbs.
I suggest you put the veg in places that look like they are not for buns. Guaranteed to be eaten then. Try hiding it in a cupboard or putting it in a sandwich!

Re: Favourite veg/herbs.
Daisybwill only fresh cut fresh from the pot parsley and the same with coriander. The odd carrot top is acceptable on occasion also - but mostly I get a disgusted look when it's offered.
Charlie and Annie will eat anything at all! Their favourite thing to do at the moment is to sit under the bird feeder waiting for seeds to fall! I've had to cage off the underneath of the tree!
They also love dandi's, plantain and pear tree leaves. Nom Nom Nom. I feel for you though if Molly and Junior turn into fussy wot nots like Daisy

My lot eat anything I put in front of them, they ate most of garden plants and they steal my kids sandwiches if the kids are eating in the garden.

Re: Favourite veg/herbs.
Ummm, aparently Spinach must be taken off the menu, as they made it quite clear the other week by leaving their spinach every day for a week!
But, they arent usually fussy. Its probably easier to tell you what they dont like! Dont you even think about giving them asparagus, they may think you are trying to poison them!
Mine seem to go crazy for home grown plants to be honest, maybe because its nice and fresh? They especially love dandelions, lemon balm, mint, thyme, oregano and a mix of various grasses that i have growing in a box.
As for the supermarket. They will eat rocket, romaine lettuce, spring greens, sweet heart cabbage, salad cress, parsnip, green beans, dill, rosemary, parsley, basil - they LOVE basil! Carrots, suede, apple, banana, pineapple, strawberry, hawthorne, goosegrass, plantain, dog rose, blackberry leaves and raspberry leaves. To be honest, they really arent fussy!
How about working your way through the RWAFs list of safe foods? Surely there must be SOMETHING that they like......

Re: Favourite veg/herbs.
Micro Joe loves his Coriander, Rosemary, Parsley (occaisionally) the odd Rocket leaf and fresh Timothy grass. I did buy a raspberry plant for the leaves but it hasn't grown as yet. He doesn't have fruit.
I think herbs and leaves are probably the best fresh things for buns

Re: Favourite veg/herbs.
I have looked at the lists on various websites but my local asda doesn't seem to have many of the items I especially looked for carrots with tops but they didn't have
But I'm sure I could at least get rocket, spinach, corriander and broccoli!! (As boggin' as it all looks )
They do like like dried plantain
I could try parsnip, Thumper was offended by it, but its worth a shot!
So far they've screwed their face up at parsley, celery, dandilion and a.n other, which I can't for the life of me remember I think you're right Sparky, they get it from me
I almost bought romaine hearts on Friday, but I don't know if this is the exact same stuff you guys mention and I don't want to take any chances
Does anyone know?
Mange tout did cross my mind, but I don't think I can do it Not yet anyway. I'll explore other avenues first.
This has been most helpful I will open this thread when I'm in asda on Friday!
Thank you!!

Re: Favourite veg/herbs.
You get rocket in the bagged salad area. The asda bags clearly say wild rocket along the top.

Re: Favourite veg/herbs.
Nibbler turns his nose up at most things (I think he was never exposed to many different things before we got him, and trying to get him to try new stuff is very difficult, he just looks at you like you're trying to poison him), and has started to get in to the habit of turning his nose up at his usual likes which is very frustrating! I have to say he cannot get enough of parsley, and does quite like coriander and sometimes basil. He's got very very very close to trying mint once, but I think the smell made him stop trying it! Herbs are definitely more successful than veg.

Re: Favourite veg/herbs.
Thumper was like that. She loved what she did like but was very reluctant to try anything new.
She knew what she liked and she liked what she knew!
It's a pity hay wasn't on the "like" list. Like you, I suspect she wasn't given it before she came to me I always made sure she had a supply, but she never really ate it.
I have a few pics of her eating the odd bit, they were such momentous moments that I obviously felt the need to take pics
