Mike has took Enya to the 'Forget Me Not' pet Crematorium in Newton Aycliffe, Co. Durham and we will have her back home on Friday, Roly has not ate his breakfast and it's clear he is grieving for her and we are keeping our eye on him as we are worried about the little fellow as we don't know how he will cope without her, he has been sat in her igloo hideout this morning where she always would sit.
I intend to find him another tiny Netherland Dwarf girl straight away to bond with him

Poor Roly He clearly knows what's going on.
I really really hope that he will be ok these next few days and eat up- fingers crossed he finds companionship in another girly. xx

Poor Roly. I hope you find him another friend quickly and that helps him perk up a bit. It must be horrible seeing him like that.

Oh Maysie, I am so sorry - how utterly devastating

I hope you accept that nobody could have done more for Enya than you two have, during the rest of her life as well as these last few days.

Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear that dear little Enya has gone to the bridge. At least she was in Mikes arms and not on her own or something. I'm so sad for you both and for Roly. Sending lots of hugs from all of us here.

When I read of animals grieving over the loss of a companion whether pet or human it drives home to me the thought that our pets are indeed sentient. So many do not agree since they insist they have no sense of 'self' or their place 'in the scheme of things'.

They know what they want. Sparky and her fenugreek crunchies...well..any tasty nom actually.
They know freedom. Gizmo and his binkies of joy.
They have the ability to plan. Florence plots all sorts of things. Successfully.
They are persistent. Molly & Junior are unstoppable.
They know how to manipulate us. The list of HH bunnies that do this is so LONG...
They can have logical thought. Stewie and his obstacle courses and puzzles.
They accept us into their world. Thumper grooming his Daddy every night.
They can grieve and feel the loss of a friend, mate or human. Roly missing Enya.
They have us wrapped around their little paw. Bluebell comes to mind here.
They can have foul tempers. I won't give the names of the grumpy buns, but we know who you are....
They have and are aware of a social structure. Father Jack has one large bunny
family.
They know how to return our love for them each in their perfectly unique way.

And love them we do!

Lots more love on its way to you and Roly.

Oh yes it is love, I feel as if a child has been statched away from me. I feel all empty as if something is missing, which is course it is.
