Just been "told off"
A member of another forum has just told me off for putting Teddy and Toffee "behind bars" as it is cruel. This is following a picture I posted of Toffee in the run in the garden.
I pointed out that either they go outdoors in a run like that, or they can't go outdoors at all.
I'm a bit miffed

Re: Just been "told off"
you should have said,it would be cruel if i let them have free range and they get attacked by a cat/dog/fox ect or ran away as they is nothing stopping them some people try and not get annoyed by it,i know its easier said than done

Re: Just been "told off"
I should just ignore whoever said that. My buns sometimes go in a run in the front garden because the grass is nicer in the front. I think the change of scenery and environment is good for their mental well being too. Being in a run on the lawn is far better than spending all day in a hutch.

Re: Just been "told off"
Thank you
Mine have the run of the front room 99.999999...% of the time, and get out in the garden in their run when time and weather allows.
They also have lots of toys (which to be fair they ignore), hay, chewy things and lots of fuss and strokes when they need it. To say nothing of the fenugreeks!
Does that sound cruel?

Re: Just been "told off"
Some people are not happy unless they are putting others down. Of all the people in the world this person could have accused of being cruel and she picks on smeone who would die first.
Treat it with the contempt it deserves love.

Re: Just been "told off"
People should mind their own bloody business
I wouldn't let my two free range in the garden because they would be at too high a risk from cats, bird of prey etc. You have their safety in mind, so ignore those who are judging you

Re: Just been "told off"
Was it a rabbit forum or Numpties Anonymous? (not that I am insinuating you would be a member of N.A. )
Were you also poking Toffee through the bars with a stick?
I don't think their opinions are worth worrying about, and I really hope others on that forum said the same...

Re: Just been "told off"
Why oh why do some people have to be so judgemental. It's hardly being cruel putting them in a run. Mine go in a run when they are in the garden mainly because I have heard lots of stories about birds of prey. Ignore them, they are stupid and ignorant.
