Pip - 3 year old Cocker-Pug - Surrey
This is Pip who is a 3 year old Pug x Cocker Spaniel who recently came into rescue and is now looking for a new home.
Pip arrived here with a bad label from her previous owners. We were told that she growled at children and was 'at the end of the line' - in other words she was going to be put to sleep.
She had visited behaviourists with Pip who could not cure the growling. She took her to the vet who did tests and put her on sedatives, but that did not cure it either.
Because of what rescues were being told, she kept being refused spaces, so we agreed to take her here with a view to rehab and rehome.
Since being here, Pip has caused very little upset. She is a happy-go-lucky girl who has a lovely nature, loves to run and play and bounce around whilst out on her walks and socialises fantastically with other dogs, plus has a fantastic recall. She currently plays with all shapes and sizes of dogs including a Pomeranian, a Pug, a Staffie and a Lurcher.
We have seen no aggression or growling at people here, although she is quite vocal when she plays with the other dogs.
Pip has got a fantastic appetite and this has left her a tad round. She is currently on a diet to get her waistline a bit trimmer!
Because of her past we cannot home Pip with children so we are looking for an adult only home for her. Although we have seen no problems, we do need to consider why she came to us. All people in the home must be 16 years and over.
Pip lives with cats without any issues and is fine with small caged animals.
Pip is clean in the home and although she can be a bit whingey initially on arrival, she does settle and can be left for short periods of time on her own (our policy states no longer than 4 hours without a break).
Pip would like an enclosed garden to run around with minimum fence heights of at least four feet high and with no gaps she could escape from.
Pip will be spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, wormed and defleaed before she leaves us. A homecheck will be done.
A minimum adoption fee of £150 will apply.
