Hello newby here
Hi everyone. A new rabbit owner her. Well not kept a rabbit since I was 14 and am now 45 so you do the maths.
We have decided to finally give in and let my daughter have her first pet which is going to be a mini lop (blue otter).
He is already reserved and we are collecting him next week. He will be keeping as a house pet so we are now looking for his quarters. Any advice will be welcome.
Angus

Welcome to the Forum Angus
Oh what a gorgeous little bunny and if you are stuck for names for him there are some websites with bunny names
http://www.bunspace.com/topten/names
http://www.lovingyourpet.co.uk/pet-names/rabbit-names/
If you go to the 'Property Ladder' part of the forum you may get some ideas for 'bunny living quarters'
We have our buns in indoor bunny cages inside a pen. Like this below, the pens you can buy on eBay.

Re: Hello newby here
Hello and welcome.
Your little guy is very cute - I bet you can't wait to get him home
Indoor housing - the very best thing is to rabbit-proof a whole room and let him free-range. Or many of us use C&C grid panels to build a pen to suit the space available as just about all of the indoor cages which are available to buy are too small to keep a bun in permanently. There are lots of ideas in the Property Ladder section, or feel free to ask anything specific.
It's no good asking us lot about names - I have sisters named Graham, Ronnie, Reggie and Poirot

Re: Hello newby here
Well thanks for the nice welcome. Confession time the little chap is a he, but
my 5 year old daughter thinks he is a she. Like most girls her age everything has to to female. Going to be interesting time when it comes picking a name.

We are going to use a puppy play pen and then have a inner bedroom - sleeping area and a large play area. No small hutch or indoor cage for our bunny.

Well we have 26 rabbits so sadly we only have a couple who are free range in the home but all the rest have pens attached to their large indoor cages or indoor hutches.

There are many male bunnies here with names such as Daisy. And many does with names like Poirot. I must confess I was quite confused at first. I thought it must just be a British thing.(I'm from the USA) There also are many gender neutral names, such as Willow, so you might steer your daughter towards those.
Your bunny is quite adorable. Let me be the first to warn you....we love bunny pictures! Feel free to share all you want in the Photoshoots section! We all are so proud of our buns and it shows.
Again WELCOME!

Welcome to HH Angus!
Lovely to have you here and great to hear the little chap is going to be so well looked after. It's also great to hear that even though it will be your daughters pet, that you will love him just as much!
