Please meet...
... a very stunning girl, whose name the Hu-parents forgot to ask
The rescue had asked them to consider taking a French Lop who has hutch aggression issues and do some work with her. But with the garden half finished, they just did not have the space so it would not have been fair to take her if they could not do anything to help her. But the rescue also had a 'normal' sized bun who was not doing very well in rescue and simply refused to be handled, turning into a scratchy, bitey monster. Funnily enough, she was quite happy for Hudad to lift her out of her hutch at the rescue and pop her in a carrier. She also spent some time in the kitchen with the hu-parents last night and was wary but not terrified. They think she just needs her confidence building up and Humum thinks she might not like women. Humum is making a point of only ever approaching her hutch with something nice for her to nom, then waiting until she comes to take it from her hand, however long that might take. Hudad is going to spend some time in the kitchen with her each evening while Humum cleans out, so that her space is not being invaded while she is in it and she can learn that humans are ok (well, mine are anyway).
The photos do not do justice to just how stunning she is, partly because they had to be taken from a bit of a distance but also because they just can't show the way light reflects off her fur - she shimmers
They'll get some more photos when they can without distressing her

Re: Please meet...
What a gorgeous colour she is like a silver grey she's just beautiful
Oh if we had the space and time we would have taken that French Lop as we have had bunnies before with hutch aggression issues and it take's time and sometimes months but we get there in the end. We just don't have the time, space or the money anymore.
Plus the rescue would never get him back

She looks a lot like Snickers, as far as Humum remembersTuckerbunnies wrote:Oh if we had the space and time we would have taken that French Lop as we have had bunnies before with hutch aggression issues and it take's time and sometimes months but we get there in the end. She is hoping that the garden sort-out (plus when Poppy no longer needs separate quarters) will leave space for a couple of more permanent foster hutch and run set-ups, and at that point they can take on one family to 'grow on' plus one bun who needs some behavioural attention at a time. She has no doubt the French Lop will still be there when they next go, as Elaine would only rehome her to a place she knew were experienced enough to work with her and they are few and far between
