Munchkin and Marshall - dwarf/mini lops - Surrey
This is Munchkin (left) and Marshall who have come into rescue.
Munchkin is a 2 year old dwarf lop and Marshall is a year and a half old mini lop. The previous owner bred Munchkin a few times with another male, the male they had was eaten by a fox so they got Marshall. They have come into rescue because the previous owner told me her children had outgrown them.
Marshall is underweight at the moment and on arrival his fur was matted together with urine. He has now had a wash and groom and is looking much happier.
Munchkin and Marshall need a home together. They have been neutered, vaccinated, wormed and seen by our vet.
We ask for a minimum adoption fee of £35 each.

They will stay together. We only split bonded pairs for good reason e.g. fighting.
They are gorgeous aren't they <3 Marshall stunk so badly on arrival

Such a beautiful pair. It is disgusting how many wonderful rabbits end up at rescues though because of children losing interest and the parents not taking responsibility Hope they find a loving, forever home soon.

I know Really is terrible. She said the kids were going to secondary school and had outgrown them.

And secondary school should have no bearing on it. My next door neighbour must be in year 8/9 now, and her bunny must be getting towards the end of her life. But she has cared for her through wind, rain and snow, cleaned her out without fail, played with her every day and has done so since she was a little girl. It's all about how a child is taught.

Or at least accept the fact that they could be the ones who end up caring for the animal. Instead it seems people buy on impulse and then foist them off on rescues or sell them on. What happened to an animal being a life-long commitment?
So may people don't research these animals. They see a cute baby bunny in a pet shop and buy them on impulse. A classic example of this is Fred -

It always amazes me that they don't think what they are teaching their children. If you get bored of an animal... just give it away..

Oh poor Fred on your Facebook page, I suppose we should just be glad the owner didn't dump him instead of taking him to a rescue but surely they would be better in the first place not buying a rabbit if they are not prepared to pay for it's care when it needs treatment . He wasn't cared for or loved that's obvious poor boy

***SPECIAL APPEAL***
This is a special appeal for Munchkin and Marshall. I don't expect the home offers to come flooding in, in fact I would be surprised if we get any response. We need a very expereinced home for this pair as Munchkin is very aggressive. She
lunges and bites so needs someone who knows how to handle a rabbit with behavioral problems. Although she has these issues, her and Marshall are no less deserving to find a loving home. Please share these two.

Would you consider fostering them out to be 'tamed'? And have they been living outside?
We'd potentially have an empty hutch available from Saturday.....

Many thanks for the offer, but you are a very long way from us - we are near Croydon. They would need to be near our vets in case there were any health issues that needed to be seen to.
