Finally bonded!!
Just wanted to say a massive thank you to all of you who offered me advice and encouragement re: my bunny bonding issues a couple of months ago.
Somewhen back in July, I posted about my buns that had gone away to be bonded, coming back and scrabbling about and a certain new lady bun biting a poor Mr bun's bits and bobs and having to separate them after just one night together in their hutch here.
Well they had to be kept apart for a couple of weeks while he healed - it was pretty nasty and as both my husband and I are at work all day we couldn't keep them in the house where they could see each other, one was outside, one was in.
I was dreading rebonding them but once he was better we split the outside run off into 2 so they could both go outside and sniff each other. After a couple of weeks doing this, we started to bring her inside to hop round the living room with him and every now and again, put them together in the outside run which is connected to the hutch for half an hour or so. There was a bit of chasing at first but nothing like that fateful night!
Well! After a very long and slow process I am pleased to report they are now successfully cohabiting. New Mrs bun is even learning from Mr bun that it is not the worst thing in the world to be stroked! She grooms him and tries desperately to get him to do the same - I think he tolerates her more than loves her but long story short - they are now husbun and wife!
So thank you thank you thank you from the bottom of my heart, you helped me find the courage to put them together again and now they have a friend each!

Re: Finally bonded!!
Congratulations. After the stress of trying to find Gabe a partner I know just what you have gone through. I don't know why these buns have to make it so difficult for us and themselves at times.
I am so glad it has worked out A pair of happy buns is so wonderful to see

Re: Finally bonded!!
Congratulations! I know how much of a worry it is and how scary it is, trying to find the confidence to bond bunnies.
Isnt it totally worth it in the end though? We need pictures of the happy couple!!

Re: Finally bonded!!
A happy ending - how lovely!
Why they cant just see its for their own good in the first place is beyond me.
You have done a lovely thing sticking with it.
Congrats!

Re: Finally bonded!!
Thanks everyone.
I will attempt some pictures this weekend - so far they have not really worked out as she likes to hop off as soon as the camera comes out but what is a little more perseverance!?!
