It's a week today since Pepsi had his Op and a tooth removed and he hasn't eaten since, he isn't right and we are now at the stage we are seriously worried about him and so Mike has made an appointment to take him back to the vet's today and let her check his mouth.

I hope he will be ok

Pepsi's blood glucose was 11.4 which is high and there was some pus where his tooth was removed but our vet said she expected that as it was quite a rotten and smelly tooth and she think's the stress of it all has caused him to go in to ileus. We have to take him off the baytril and syringe feed him less and we have to ring the vet tomorrow to let her know how he is.

Have they given you an alternative abx Maysie? Could be really nasty if the infection gets into the bone of his Jaw, that would be my worry.

Is it your normal vet?

It was our normal vet and she said there is only a tiny bit of pus in the hole where the tooth was taken from which she said she expected being such a bad tooth
and he should be ok after a week's course of septrin.

I would love to say that Pepsi had eaten overnight but sadly .....no change we are trying and trying everything to get him to eat .

Oh, the poor little guy. It must be heartbreaking for you. Do you think he needs something stronger than metacam?

The pain from my infected wisdom tooth socket was relentless. My dentist placed an abx soaked wad into the socket - I nearly passed out.

I wish I could think of something that would tempt him to eat but I know you will have tried everything. My six are fighting over falling ash leaves at the moment, I could send you some if you wanted. They also fought over some willow leaves I obtained.

He is on Septrin which is pretty good but we just can't get anything down him apart from syringe feeding him. He's got three dishes in with him, pellets, readigrass and fresh herbs and greens.

Thank You so much Sixer for the offer of ash leaves but we have tried him on dried herbs and leaves and I'm just going now to cut him some dandelion.

I have this awful gut feeling that this isn't going to have a happy ending but I'm hoping I'm wrong Crying or Very sad
