I seem to have bonded my boss' rabbits U/D PICS!
What on earth did I do that for! He's tried before and failed - but from my limited discussions with him, it seems that he put the new girl into the existing buck's hutch, and there was lots of fur and growling, so he separated them and bought her a hutch.
That was about a year ago. Apparently they can see each other from their runs and they grunt at each other.
I don't hold out too much hope but it's got to be worth a go on the neutral territory of my house hasn't it

Err.....Good Luck?
I would say that the fact they are in their own runs and grunting at each other shouldn't have a huge bearing on how they react in neutral teritory with the correct approach.

Oh yes
I'm not too worried about the technicalities of bonding, it's more just that they're my boss' rabbits. We talked about them during my job interview
He said quite a profound thing - that rabbits are a cheap and easy animal to look after badly.
I hope it goes ok, next Fri (29th) is the big day

If they get on, it's a distinct possibility! Although there is now a spare bed in the back bedroom so I'm more likely to set the dog crate up in there and have a proper bed while bunnysitting!

Yep they are both done. I'm hoping the doe had only just been done when they tried them last time, and that she will have calmed down a lot now!

Re: I seem to have bonded my boss' rabbits U/D PICS!
Well today was B-day...arrived home from my hols at midnight last night and the bunnies arrived at 9.30 this morning. There have been some scuffles but since about 4.30pm all has been relatively calm. no grooming yet but lots of ignoring, grooming of themselves and eating by each other. I've just brought them indoors into the dog crate which is in the spare room, so I'm in for a long interesting night I reckon!
They are gorgeous buns, one is a hugely overweight lop (he's about the size of a fat dwarf lop but looking at his face shape he may even be a mini!) and the other I reckon is a conti x. I can't get any photos uploaded yet but will do another day.
Hope everyone is ok

I'm now in bed with the laptop...no fighting but she (Bertha) is a big old girl and all I can hear is her munching away on a load of tasty hay

Good luck Alison, can't wait to see some pics of them
Re: I seem to have bonded my boss' rabbits U/D PICS!
It's 8am and all is well No snuggling or grooming yet but they seem perfectly content in each others company and shared breakfast from the same bowl without bickering. I think it'll do the little tubby one some good to share with Big Bertha as he won't get as much concentrated food so may lose some weight!

Re: I seem to have bonded my boss' rabbits U/D PICS!
Well it's been 6 days and all is well They are back home (still in my dog crate as I advised leaving them in that for a few days) and there is lots of grooming and snuggling. My boss is going to be attaching their runs together over the next couple of days so they can go back outside at the weekend. I suggested doing it on Saturday as they may bicker a bit when first moved so at least someone will be there to check all is ok for a couple of days.
I'm so happy I've been able to help these two buns live happily together - not only do they now have a companion but they will have twice as much space too!
