Do You Remember....... (very photo heavy)
those two, thin, scrawny hamsters I took on just after I moved? For those who don't, they were dumped in a field and rescued by a friend of a friend.
Well here's what they look like now.....
Most of the photos are of Cherry, the wheel is Cherry, Leah is the one washing in the corner. Cherry is an absolute joy, she will let you pick her up, cuddle her, do anything to her. Leah is still very shy, and I can't handle her. But Leah is the one who has the deformity issues due to the group of hamsters inbreeding, so I don't know if it's anything to do with that. I just let Leah be really, she's happy and a greedy pig so I'm happy!
They do like their bed, sometimes I don't even see them. All over the internet says how Roborovski hamsters are lively, these two aren't! But then they had such a rotten start maybe they just like their nice warm, safe bed!
I don't expect them to have long lives thanks to their genetics (especially Leah), and start in life, but as long as they are happy and healthy I try and forget that. But what a difference in them!
ps please excuse the dirty wheel, they wee in it as soon as I clean it

They're looking fantastic, and those are lovely pictures
I think you could barely get a picture of them at first because they were so shy? It's great to see how well they have come on - they are incredibly cute

Re: Do You Remember....... (very photo heavy)
Thanks guys! I looked at some photos last night of when they first moved in and the difference is huge. Their fur was horrible, they were very thin, and they didn't know how to act like hamsters, the first time I saw them in the sand bath I melted
Yup Sparky they were so shy and scared I couldn't get photos when they first moved in! Leah is still a bit like that, apart from when you put food in!! I do tend to let her be a bit more, she seems happy and healthy enough. I wasn't expecting to be able to handle either of them, so to have one that I can is good enough for me
