There are 4 new bunnies on the block
My heartache of the recent months has been terrible Riley, Mojo, Oose and Summer and of course foster bunny Bobby, i hurt to the point where i wanted to give up, i only ever maintained, i would take and English Lop if the oppertunity arose, as they are my favourite breed.
Well, i guess sometimes we are sent a sign, as i heard of an EL breeder who was giving up, and rehoming her ex breeders. Included was a male and two females, well how could i say no? Only thing was, someone who was meant to get the remaining 10wk old baby didnt offer a good enough home, and really i could not leave her behind . So i now have 4 english lops . They were in Manchester, and everything happened very quickly, we waved at Maysie and the Tuckers as we passed the Scotch Corner sign .
Please meet Bunty who is 10 weeks
And her mum, Autumn (named in memory of Summer)
Together
Then we have the dad, who is called Phileas Fogg (Foggy for short)
And then we have Jane Doe - named because we could not find a name for her for 24 hours, making her a real Jane Doe and for the funny play on words.... blame my husband, but she is JD for short

Re: There are 4 new bunnies on the block
Firstly...You passed the end of our road and didn't call we are just 400 yards from Scotch corner ( that's so norty!) you could have had a brew and the buns could have had a play.
The buns are gorgeous I don't see many English Lops nowadays and now I get to see 4 Wow!! they are beautiful and one of the oldest breeds of rabbit ( if I'm right ).

Re: There are 4 new bunnies on the block
Thank you all
Cheryl, Foggy's eyes are ok, a common problem with EL's is runny eyes, but he had just had a 3.5hr drive, so was a bit stressy
Fiver, ha ha, like i could leave any behind
Maysie, i would have loved to call by, but it all happened so fast, we finished discussing them at 2:30 and were on the road by 3, at the house by 6:30 and back on the road by 7:15 (after meeting their skunk and racoon dog, nice experience, but not a pet for me). Then it was after 10 when we got home, it was a very quick roadtrip. I must say, considering they only got in from work 10 mins before we arrived, they hutches were spotless, they did not have time to clean, they must maintain a high standard. The hutches were 5ft, not ideal, but ok, but the best bit, we took all their rabbits, so they cant breed
They are indeed the oldest breed of domestic rabbit, and pretty rare these days. To find 4 in a sort of round about rescue situation is super .

I do understand , when you are travelling such a long distance you just want to get them from A to B safely and get them settled down as we are the same.
Poor buns in 5ft hutches and English Lops are not small and glad that they can't breed them now that's good

Re: There are 4 new bunnies on the block
They are huge Maysie, much bigger than Mojo was! All so eager to please too, all the girls run for a stroke, and poor Foggy stands to attention (been shown), they need to get their rings removed when i neuter them.
They travelled very well, we were going to stop, but they were all so peacefully quiet, we decided to keep going. We stopped in Glasgow for petrol, gave them a check over, and no one was bothered in the slightest.
I just cant believe they are all mine!

Re: There are 4 new bunnies on the block
They are utterly stunning
I would be worried about those ears though - I hope Bunty grows into hers before she starts tripping over them. I really hope they bring you loads of happiness after your cruddy year so far I know you'll make them very happy and the ex-breeding ones are going to have an amazing retirement with you
Keep us up to date with plenty of piccies, won't you?

Oh gosh, those ears! They are just so beautiful
You deserve a good thing after such a rubbish time of it and I'm sure these buns are just that! You get four beautiful buns and in return they get a loving home (and some the best retirement they could wish for!). How much better could it be?

What gorgeous buns I feel so so sorry for them knowing where they have been, but it at least sounds as though they were cared for whilst there. So pleased to hear they're safe and sound with you now
