Is it necessary for me to have Kirby vaccinated? Empty Is it necessary for me to have Kirby vaccinated?

I called the vet today to take an appointment for Kirby's first routine visit and asked if we could do her vaccines while we were at it.
The vet told me that for an indoor rabbit vaccines are useless and tiring to the rabbit's immune system.
What do you think about this?
Should Kirby be vaccinated being an indoor rabbit with occasional outdoor outings on leash?
I believe that insects like flies and mosquitos can be an issue, and they come indoors too so I just assumed that she should get her shots!

Yes!

Both Myxi and VHD can easily find their way into your house. Myxi via flies and vhd via food, on the wind, on grass that other buns have passed across, on your feet from walking across infected dropppings or from other buns.

I would absolutely get both Myxi and VHD done. There are several house bunnies that are on here that are vaccinated with both and they have no problems.
You can get a joint (VHD & Myxi) vaccine which is yearly, or independent Myxi (6 months) and VHD (yearly or 6 months) vaccines.

Myxi and VHD can easily find their way into the house throughout nasty biting bugs!

Hope that helps Smile xx

Thank you for confirming!
She will get her first shots next weekend.
I know Chewy's shots are yearly so I'll try to get the same thing done for Kirby.
