Sad It makes me really sad to see bunnies in pet shops now. The most horrific one ive been to is one in Stoke on Trent after nans funeral. They had some cool toys, but the cages were that bad, i refused to buy anything.

They are so lovely, lets hope the homes they go to are really loving ones.
I am like you Tuckerbunnies, it really upsets me. I always wonder what is going to become of them.

Hugs

hi

at xmas the store by us was full of baby rabbits they obviously got them in for xmas! so some wally can go in on a whim and buy their 4 year old a living creature thats needs feeding, cleaning etc for probably the next 12 years well in actual fact will probaly be either starved die of cold or be squeezed to death before it reaches 2 years old!!

it makes me so angry the shop should be called deaths at home!

i have complained on numerous occasions on the amount of animals they have in clearly more than they can sell as i have witnessed syrian hamsters fighting because they are in the same tank and have matured whilst being in the store i did ask them what happens to the animals they cant sell ..they wouldnt tell me !

their should be tighter laws on purchasing animals !

excuse me whilst i just get down off my soap box...

regards

I totally understand your frustration jag, and I too wonder what happens to them when they're 'past selling' Sad

That is why I love my pet shop so much. Although they sell live animals all of their rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, birds etc have lovely, lovely accommodation with the right diet, clean bedding and plenty of space and stimulation. I would always adopt over buying but they are far better than most other places.

There was recently a gorgeous little Agouti bun in who no one wanted, because to a child they probably look 'boring'. Anyway, he'd been there months and months and I asked the manager what would happen to him and he said he would stay there until he found a home whatever happens which was comforting to know Smile
