Just received some more hay Empty Just received some more hay

It doesn't smell right at all, sort of.. musty I guess, I've left the lid off of the hay box in case it's just to do with the changing temps and it having been in a bag, it only seems to be the top that smells, Hector doesn't seem bothered, do you think it's ok?

I probably wouldn't risk it, to be honest. If it has been damp it could be growing mould, even if you can't see any evidence of it.

Hay for pets, do you think the underneath will be ok as it smells ok? I'm a bit peeved it only came today and I'm sick of wasting my money!

i probably wouldn't use any of it, as the whole bag could have the spores for mould and as others have said its not worth the risk. get in touch with hay4pets and im sure they will sort it for you Smile

Arrrgh this is so irritating, when I order a small bag from there it's fine, if I order a bigger bag there's always problems with it

I ordered a big bag cost £16 but was fine maybe it's the weather has got to it before you received it contact them and see if they will refund or replace x

Hay for Pets is a family run business with a reputation for excellent customer service. I would ring and express concerns that you have had more than one large bag that you have not been happy with. If they are not expecting you to return it but throw it away, I would at least send them a sample and ask them to have a good look / sniff and let you know what they think.

Which hay is it? We've had three or four big bags of Ings and it is always lovely.
