HELP! Rory's 'litter training'..or lack thereof!
We have had Rory 3 months now. We had made some progress with Rory's litter training before i was gone 6 weeks for my surgery. He's 10 months now and I have never had this much trouble litter training a rabbit. When I came home...well the house was one big litter box. We have litter boxes where he prefers to go, however, he poos EVERYWHERE!
I KNOW the precious can control his urine. The bed he made for himself out of hay is always pristine. He got mad at Hubby and peed right by his bed pillow. Now I'm home he is peeing and pooing all over my bed...even me. He's not spraying. He'll just hop up to watch TV, lay down and pees. Hops up and down on and off the bed poos flying. I scolded him for it today and he went to his 'room'(our Master bath) and sat eating slowly, ears down, feeling very sad. I'd never seen him like that. One very sad bunny.
He's not yet neutered. By his persistent marking the bed, could he be 'claiming' me as his to keep Hubby away? Hubby is doing loads of laundry a day as you can imagine! What do we do?
We cannot lock him in a small bathroom 24/7 with no window. That little body is now scaling 3ft with ease. What do we do? He is such a cheerful and happy bunny. He has a cute way of binkying off the walls. (The brat also chewed a piece of the physical therapist's leather shoe off!)

I think Holly it will be a lot better when Rory is neutered at the moment he sounds as if he is just marking his territory....everywhere! It sound's as if you are putting litter boxes where he prefer's to go which I would have suggested.
If he's peeing more round you Holly and near your thing's 'Yes' he could be marking you as his property and saying 'Keep away Ed' He's obviously missed you while you have been away and he's so excited that you are back and I think he's see's you as his doe and that's why he's marking all round the house.
This should stop hopefully when he's neutered

He will hopefully get neutered when we get our income tax return. At least he isn't mounting my socked foot anymore! That would be embarrassing nurses and therapists coming in!

We covered the bed with thick woven fiberglass panels. He peed and pooed a tiny bit last nigh but hid mostly. Sulking i think. We couldn't find him for 6 hours. We got FRANTIC!

Sending start-pooping-in-your-litter-tray vibes Rory's way, I hope neutering does the trick!

Well fellow Hoppers....Rory has stopped pooping and peeing on the bed! At least he hasn't in a few days and except for a specific(but explainable) marking incident tonight his peeing has been confined to the litter box. He still poops all over though. But I think the poor fellow is just confused.

Well, at least he's not peeing and pooping all over the bed anymore. I know that feeling - Willow used to do it and it is YUCK! That is one thing I don't miss about having her as a bedroom bunny
Hopefully he won't be so confused when he's had his neuter
