Re: Smile for the camera! (Gecko)
Not meaning to moan but get the tape out asap, if he/she brushes against it, it could actually damage her skin, also the glue is toxic. A friends lost her feet because of the tape, others snake got wrapped in tape, not a pretty site poor thing had to be pts due to the damage. Recommend getting the wee half round cable clips you nail into stuff, easy & quick to install. On a happy note what sweet wee face.

I hardly see my wee girl now, shes blind so is sooooo scared, she jumps with fright if you touch her, so she hides most of the time.

Glue? I dont have glue in there, its aquarium sealant around the edges, which is non toxic and safe to use. As for the tape, i know its a problem. Its not been in there long. The wires were loose and there was a plant covering them up, but it kept falling down. Its only been in there a couple of weeks as i havent had any money to go out and get the stuff i need. Ive tried everything to keep them out of the way, and the tape is the only thing that works for the time being. I check it every day to make sure its not going to come off. I plan on sorting it as soon as i get some money.

Was the tape I meant not the sealer, the clips are about 99p a pack. I need to get the bigger ones to hold they fake branches I bought, still sitting in the bag as usual.

Well it will all be thoroughly scrubbed so that theres nothing left when i get it sorted. Im just going to use a cable tidy or something though, theres a few wires there, and i dont want holes all over the back of my viv!

Shes a real character Shes looking great too, i dont know if I posted her before and after picture here, but the difference in her is great. Shes put plenty of weight on and is looking healthy now, she doesnt seem to be having as many problems shedding either, most of it all comes off pretty quickly.

Re: Smile for the camera! (Gecko)
We just used the half round holes that the viv came with, then pinned the wire in 2 places down the side, snakes needed more pins as the climb everywhere but wee geckos dont like heights.

How much weight has she put on, they dont need to be big, between 50-65 grams is what vet recommends, cleo was 110 omg far to heavy, she cant breakdown the fat, so it caused blindness.

Re: Smile for the camera! (Gecko)
Im not being rude, but im not going to justify and defend how i care for my animals and why i do it the way i do. Its not the first time you have commented on my gecko threads and tried to tell me things that i already know or try and point out that im doing something wrong. I have bit my tongue until now. I didnt get her on a whim, you know? I did my research before hand, all of my animals are very well cared for and mean the world to me. I find your probing questions quite offensive, actually.dizzylynn wrote:How much weight has she put on, they dont need to be big, between 50-65 grams is what vet recommends, cleo was 110 omg far to heavy, she cant breakdown the fat, so it caused blindness.
But seeing as though you asked, she was a rescue and was dumped on my tutor, whos had reptiles for over 20 years. She was underweight when i got her and had little to no fat stores on her tail. She is doing really well now, but thanks for asking and showing concern! I have noticed that you only seem to comment on my posts when you think im doing something wrong, its never on my photos or any of my stories or anything. Pot kettle black comes to mind, nobody is perfect, you know.

You have commented on 4 of my posts since August 2012. That sounds petty, but im just proving a point. 2 of them were to put me down for something. It doesnt matter anyway, im sorry for loosing my rag, but it does get irritating. The last thing on my mind at the moment, is getting some clip things for the viv - i did say at the bottom of the original posts that it needs sorting out. Then the comment about being overweight causing blindness, i explained her story in my first ever post, explaining that she was underweight etc, one where you also pointed out an issue, that had already been rectified. - Oddly, that post seems to have vanished.
