Pulling on nails?
Quite often when Junior is washing, it will turn into a nail pulling session! He gets his nail between his teeth and he pulls always his back paws and not the same nail! It's pretty gross
I'm sure I can remember Thumper doing it on occasion, but nowhere near as often as Junior does!
It's not that his nails are needing cut because they were done at the vet 2 weeks ago.
Any ideas why he might be doing this?
Eta video. Excuse the mess, and whatever **** OH has on the TV

Re: Pulling on nails?
I watched it on you tube so to make it bigger and tbh I don't know I like the look of it as it looks like something agitating him on that foot he really is tugging it hard and then licking it ?
could you not do a check on it

Re: Pulling on nails?
That's just weird. Have you considered therapy?
If it was always the same nail I'd assume it was irritating him. Is it always the same foot? Or does he do both sides?
If it's the same foot I'd be trying to have a really good look at it*, part the fur and make sure there is nothing in it or under the skin which is causing him irritation. Can you associate it with being after some particular activity? I wonder if he is coming into contact with something that is irritating him
*good luck with that, by the way

Re: Pulling on nails?
Some of our's do that and it's usually when they have a bit of fur wrapped round a nail and they are trying to pull the fur off

I don't even think it's the same foot But I will endeavour to have a poke around his tootsies anyway!
If you don't hear from me again, you'll know it didn't go well

Re: Pulling on nails?
Lady did that. She did it especially after her nails had been trimmed. i don't think she liked the feel of them. She'd for it a few weeks then stop...but then it was time to trim again.

Indeed!
Haven't seen any of the buns doing this but Paddy cat is forever pulling at his claws, despite his lack of teeth. It is almost an OCD thing with Paddy.
And Chris pull skin off his fingers constantly. It is a recognised condition dermatillomania (sp?). Even so it drives me round the bend

It's def not always the same nail. It's not even always the same foot. I've seen him at both feet in the last 2 hours
