I want to introduce you to somebody. UD video added :)

This is Rocky, hes a Chihuahua X (we think with a pug). Hes been here for a week now, and i didnt want to introduce him until we knew he would be staying. He used to belong to my friends inlaws, who went away and didnt go back for him. My friend has been looking for a home for him, as he doesnt like men or other dogs, and as they lived on a farm and couldnt go out with the working dogs, he used to just stay in the house. He barks a lot at other dogs and people he doesnt know, and he is scared easily - aparently he used to get kicked around a lot in a previous home How true it is, i dont know, but hes not very well socialised.

He has really taken to us, anyway. He gets on with our other two dogs, and will even play with Poppy. He has also been out on walks with my friends 4 dogs (a chihuahua, terrier and 2 labs) and he quickly settled down and was as good as gold, he even wanted to run around with them after a while! Today he also went out with Mum and her friends young lab. He barks and growls a lot, and doesnt like people making eye contact with him, but he does settle down and just needed time and someone with some patience to give him chance to settle in and get used to things. Hes a real character, and follows me all over the place. A "teacup" breed is the last thing i ever imagined us having, but he fits in so well and is as good as gold, bless him. Hes not the most handsome of dogs, but he grows on you, and is very cute really. By the way, i dont like dogs in clothes either, but as hes a Chi x he gets cold easily, and when the snow was down, he was even shivering in the house, so Mum knitted him a jumper.

Oh I LOVE a pugly dog he is so adorable I would dog-nap him in a heartbeat!!

You wouldnt want him once youd heard his barking. Thats why he kept going back, he doesnt bark when your out of the house, just at things hes scared of and Poppy when she gets to the toys before he does I think the fact that we have other dogs that are well socialised has really helped him, as he doesnt bark half as much as he did.

Hes got such a huge character He has a snowman teddy that he pinched off my friends 2 year old and its his best friend, its almost as big as he is and he just trots around the house with it He also follows me up to bed, and if Dad forgets to shut the dogs in the living room with him, no matter how often i send him back down, hes back within 10 minutes hopping around at the side of my bed squealing at me as though to say "lemmie up, i want a cuddle!" I dont want him in my room on a night, because Poppy goes up with Dad sometimes and I dont want Jess to think shes getting left out by being downstairs. He does come up for a half hour snuggle on a morning though. The vets were laughing at Mum, as they knew he wasnt going to be going anywhere once we got him

Here is a video of Poppy and Rocky playing together this morning. Its only taken a week to learn to play with her, and 2 weeks to learn to play without barking incessantly Its from facebook, but its public so should be ok.

Hes still a bit wary of Jess as shes a lot bigger than him. It surprises me though, because Jess is less likely than Poppy to cause him any harm

I don't let the dogs around the rabbits unless they are in their pen or Im closely supervising, as in, the degree don't leave my side if the rabbits are out. He responds to a firm no very well and has gotten used to just watching them and ignoring them.
