Question about some ved/salad (weird names)
I have bought mixed veg for bunnies and not exactly sure if they are allowed everything in it, as pringle had a sore tummy for approx a week just trying to see if its anything he may have eaten. Are these all ok for bunnies :-
Frisee (also known as curly endive)
Lambs lettuce
radicchio
escarole
white cabbage
raddiccio
As they are all weird names i couldnt tell what they actually are
Also can people name a few veg/salad they give their bunnies so i can try something new if they dont already get it thanks xx

Re: Question about some ved/salad (weird names)
I personally have never given my buns any of the above, so am unable to comment.
There is a very good list available of what is safe/unsafe for buns, including the frequency that it can be fed, but for the life of me I can't find the link I am sure though that another HH member will have it to hand & post it for you
As far as veg & fruit, my buns will eat the following (personal preference... theirs ):
Brocolli
Spring Greens (green leaves only)
Cauliflour & leaves
Curly Kale
Carrot
Celery
Apple (peeled & cored)
Pear (peeled & cored)
Herbs - Corriander, Parsley, Basil, Mint
Grapes (seedless)
As with all foods though, the frequency depends on sugar & 'wind factor' content & the introduction of a new food over a period of time so as not to upset their delicate tums!

Re: Question about some ved/salad (weird names)
I know raddiccio is ok as mine eat it a lot, not sure about the rest of the veggies
My buns love herbs more than anything so I give them a lot of parsley, cilantro, and mint on occasion.

Re: Question about some ved/salad (weird names)
I have had to embark on a bit of an adventure over here with 'greens' as there are a whole load which are a mystery to me - just local names on the labels.
But my bunnies will eat most anything, they too prefer brocolli, carrots and cucumbers. My UK bunnies would never touch tomato or bell peppers but this lot love them! On the other hand, this lot won't touch raisins, grass or parsley (the latter having been grown by me at great personal sacrifice ) whereas the UK buns adore all 3

Re: Question about some ved/salad (weird names)
i should think they are all ok as they are all types of leaves. There are lists online of what is safe somewhere.

Re: Question about some ved/salad (weird names)
I would advise against feeding white cabbage personally, savoy and spring greens are a much 'safer' variety and less likely to upset the digestion.
Lighter coloured varieties often seem to cause smelly, unformed stools.
